    This is a renaissance style sightseeing facility in Kosaka-machi, Kazuno County, Akita Prefecture. Once used as the offices for the Kosaka Mine, it was moved and remodeled in 2001. Inside, there are displays of materials from the Kosaka Mine, as well as the Modern Dress Hall, where you can rent dresses and have pictures taken. The building has been designated a National Important Cultural Property and attracts a lot of visitors.

    An abandoned mine for the copper mines in Osarizawaaza Shishizawa, Kazuno City with mine deposits discovered in 708, Osarizawa Mine long contributed to Japan’s mining industry until it was closed in 1978, only to be opened to the public as mining ruins. You can try out some gold panning and other programs, you can tour the 1.7 kilometer-long mine. It is a valuable industrial heritage.

    とにかくその規模に圧倒されました。これまでいくつも鉱山を見て来ましたが、ここまでダイナミックな鉱脈や発掘現場を見られるところはないと思います。とても勉強になりました。30分から40分歩きます。急な坂などはなく、歩きやすいです。特別コースプラス10分かかりますが、絶対おすすめです。

  • Statue of the Faithful Dog Hachiko

    A bronze statue at the entrance to the Akita Inu Visitor Center in Onari-cho 1-Chome, Odate City. It was installed in 1935 as the faithful dog Hachiko was born in Odate but was lost during the Second World War due to the metal recovery orders. The present statue was restored in 1987 and was the symbol of the square in front of Odate Station before it was moved to its current location with the opening of the Akita Inu Visitor Center.

    These ancient Jomon Period ruins are in Kazuno City, Akita Prefecture. The Oyu Stone Circles were made with countless pale green stones. Designated a national Special Historic Site, they're a popular tourist destination. The Oyu Stone Circle Hall is also nearby, and displays earthenware and potsherds unearthed from around the circles.
