    This government complex, situated along Prefectural Route 11 in Anrakuji Rokugo, Misato Town, Senboku County, Akita Prefecture, consists of a municipal library, exhibition space, and town hall branch office. The exhibition space has no standing exhibition; instead, special exhibitions such as art exhibitions are held here periodically.
  • Ishida Rose Garden

    A rose garden in Sannomaru, Odate City. It was the garden of Hirohide Ishida (and then donated to the city), a politician from Akita and Odate City's first honorary citizen, and houses nearly 500 varieties of roses. It's home to the Odate Rose Festival every June and October. Along with the festivals they also hold various events including park illuminations and rose contests.

    A park in Azuma Iwagamizawa, Odate City. 20 varieties of cherry trees are planted around the Iwagamizawa Reservoir, and there are walking paths and cherry-blossom viewing plazas where you can enjoy the scenery of the reservoir and cherry blossoms. In the fall you can enjoy the changing autumn colors as well as late fall blooming cherry blossoms.

    A fruit farm situated on Prefectural Route 67 in Fukushima, Jinguji, Daisen City. The farm offers fruit picking and farm-direct sales of cherries from the beginning of June to early August as well as blueberries, grapes, and other fruits when in season. The farm also has chestnut gathering, mushroom hunting, and edible wild plant hunting activities.

    A quasi-national park covering nearly a third of Oga City's total area. Most of the areas to enjoy nature in the area are included in the park area including various mountains such as Mt. Kanpu, Oga-Sanzan (Mt. Shin-zan, Mt. Hon-zan and Mt. Kenashi-yama), Unosaki Beach which was chosen as one of Japan's top 100 coastlines, and the natural growing area of the camellia bush which is the northernmost place it grows and which has been designated a natural memorial.

    "This ""Ijinkan"" (an early Western-style mansion) adjoins JR Innai Station. The building contains exhibits on the former Innai Siler Mine and visitors can learn about the mine via audio, video, and three dimensional displays. The building also displays pieces of Yayoi period pottery and Jomon period pottery decorated with fanciful spikes and impressed patterns excavated in the town, as well as dioramas which show what life was like in ancient Japan. Videos on the first floor introduce the seasonal beauty and local specialty products of the Ogachi area."

    An art museum opened in 1999 in Ugo Town, Ogachi County in the southern area of Akita Prefecture by Fujino Kazushige, chairman of the board of directors for Fujino Hoon Kogyo Co. Ltd. (and Director of Tenma Museum of Art). A great many pieces of art are on display including Tenma Chojo, a great example of the art by Yeh Tsui-Pai and admired as a treasure of the 20th century.

    A 16 minute walk from Kakunodate Station. A private museum located in Kakunodate, Senboku City, Akita Prefecture dedicated to René Lalique, who was considered an Art Deco master. The museum’s collection of some 400 pieces includes glass works of art by Lalique, Art Deco pieces from the same period as his lifetime, and related materials. In order to fully show off the beauty of its glass artwork, the museum makes use of small exhibition spaces and careful lighting. In addition, the museum chooses a special theme every two or three months and presents select pieces for exhibition accordingly.

    A museum where visitors can experience the folklore of Namahage, ogres which traditionally sit homes in the area on New Year’s to frighten misbehaving children. The museum, housed inside a prototypical magariya-style construction common to the area, stands next to the Namahage Museum, which is dedicated to presenting the history and culture of Namahage. Here visitors can take part in a Namahage folk custom class and experience the custom of Namahage, something otherwise very difficult for visitors to see outside of New Year’s Eve. The museum also displays traditional lifestyle tools and accoutrements used in the area. Be sure the purchase the money-saving joint ticket which grants access both to this museum and the Namahage Museum.
  • Goshogake Nature Trail

    This is a trail near Goshogake Onsen in Kazuno City’s Hachimantai Kumazawa National Forest. The course takes about 40 minutes round trip, and offers a close up volcanic experience with Oyunuma hot lake and its bubbling springs, as well as one of Japan’s largest mud volcanoes.

    This is a herb garden in Numata Shinmichi-shita Nishime-machi, Yurihonjo City. The garden boasts of a total area of 20,000 square meters, and grows about 250 varieties of herbs from all over the world. You can see all kinds of flowering herbs in season, including lavender, and they sell all kinds of herb-related goods. There's also a restaurant serving herbal teas, and a workshop where you can try making crafts and soaps.
  • Yokote Park

    This park is located in Shiroyama-machi, Yokote City. It maintains the remains of Yokote Castle, which was destroyed during the Boshin War fought around the end of the Tokugawa shogunate and the beginning of the Meiji period (1868 to 1869). At the Honmaru ruins is Akita Shrine, and at the Ninomaru ruins there is a three-layer castle tower observation deck which also serves as a local museum, enabling you to enjoy views of the Yokote Basin.
