    Akita Pref. Odateshi Sannomaru 13-1
    This is a museum founded in 1977 to honor the Akitainu breed of dog located about 15 minutes' walk from Higashi-oodate Station on JR Hanawasen line, in Odate city, Akita prefecture. The third floor hosts the Akitainu History Room with displays of materials on the dogs. From April to November, you can come see the real thing in the kennels.

In addition to improvements being made to the station's waiting lounge and tourist information center, the Topico station building mall has been remodeled (floors 1-3), and construction has been completed on the Akita Northern Gate Square on the east side of the station as well as the D-Crest Akita-ekimae Akita Northern Gate Training Camp, making it a center for area tourism.

    A multi-purpose complex facility in Senshu Park, Akita City. An old Japanese restaurant in Senshu Park was renovated and turned into this complex facility where visitors can learn about the Akita culture. There is a tea house which has made use of the small kitchen, and a sake bar which stocks all the best known sake. Visitors can also catch some performances by maiko from Akita at the Akita Maiko Theater, which is the main place for maiko activity in Akita.

    Learn about the history of the Kosaka mines at this museum, which has a rich collection of cultural artifacts on display and introduces the history of Lake Towada, the natural scenery of Kosaka Town, and more using graphs, photos, and dioramas. Outdoors, there’s also a steam locomotive guest car that carried Emperors Chichibu no Miya and Takamatsu no Miya. It’s about two minutes by car from the Kosaka Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway.

    This museum is located in Shishigamori Shakanai, Odate City. Making use of the former Prefectural Odate Higashi Senior High School building, the museum contains exhibits on the nature, history, folk customs, and industries of Odate. There's also an adjoining exhibition room displaying magewappa bentwood boxes, a traditional area craft; and a children's science center where kids can learn about science hands-on.

    タイトル通りです。あまり印象に残っていません。何もないので大館は好きなのですが、逆にそれだけ。ただ、コンビニなどは普通にあるので不便でもないです。

    The Boon is a hot springs facility located in a large domed building. Within the dome, there is a heated pool area and a hot springs baths area. The heated pool area has a “lazy river” and waterslides, etc., making it a great place for both children and adults to have fun. The hot springs zone has proper outdoor baths as well as sauna facilities. The second floor level has an event hall and relaxation rooms where visitors can take a rest after enjoying themselves in the other facilities.

    This is Japan's first full-fledged manga museum, located inside Masuda Fureai Plaza in Masuda Town, Yokote City. They showcase work by Masuda-native manga artist Takao Yaguchi as well as original pictures of manga by artists from Japan and overseas. They also run special exhibits, talks by manga artists, and book signings periodically. The museum is closed for renovations until April, 2019.

    A ski resort located on Mt. Moriyoshi, a mountain selected for inclusion in a list of Japan's 100 best mountains for viewing flowers and Japan's 100 best frost covered tree scenery destinations. The resort has three beginner courses and two intermediate courses, making this a great destination for first-time skiers. But the resort's biggest draw is the stunning frost covered trees which can be seen near the top of the 1,200 meter high mountain. In February, the resort holds nighttime tours in which you can view the trees from the comfort of the cabin of a snowcat. Outside ski season, visitors can take in alpine plants in summer and stunning fall foliage in autumn. A 3.5 kilometer long lift with comfortable gondolas goes to the top of the mountain, making it easy even for senior citizens to enjoy the view.

    This art museum located in the Nakadori district of Akita Prefecture’s Akita City opened in 1967. It moved to its present location in 2013, and was redesigned by architect Tadao Ando. The museum stores and exhibits numerous famous artworks, though the bulk of its collection is from 1930s Western-style painter Tsuguharu Foujita. Sights to see include the more than 20-meter long mural “Annual Events in Akita.” The unique architecture is a must-see, featuring elements such as a spiral stairway without any supports and a pond that looks out towards Senshu Park.

In the museum's activity zone, visitors can watch videos of taiko drum performances conducted at various festivals, and try beating a real taiko drum themselves.

    A fruit farm located in Bonuma-dai, Tenno, Katagami City. The farm cultivates grapes, Japanese pears, and European pears. Open from late August through early November, visitors can enjoy picking a variety of seasonal fruits. The farm also sells its fruits direct via an adjoining farm stand.

    This all-genre club is located near JR Akita Station inside the event space Jamhouse. Inside the approximately 40-square meter club, there is a DJ booth with a great sound system, a standing drinking space and sofa seating. You can enjoy yourself in different ways, such as getting excited by DJ performances, dancing to club music, or drinking slowly while listening to the music. It is operated as a bar on days when there are no events.

    This park is located in Kotsunagi, Futatsui-machi, Noshiro City. The name Kimimachi-zaka was bestowed on the area by Emperor Meiji when he visited it during an imperial tour of the Tohoku region. There is an anecdote about the emperor receiving a letter sent by the empress out of concern about his long journey while he stayed in the area. The park features a stone monument commemorates the rest the Emperor took in the area, and an additional monument is inscribed with the waka poem included in the empress' letter. The park also features the Koibumi Shrine, a mailbox for love letters, a gallery, a cafe, and more. Visitors can enjoy scenery created by Byobu Rock and the area's seasonal nature, such as cherry blossoms in the spring.

It is a popular spot to watch the beautiful sunset, and is also famous as the Sunset Beach of Kamayahama.

There are also events such as the Agricultural Science Festival and the Autumn Thanksgiving Festival, which have performances and food samples. The museum draws large crowds, especially local people, on these days.
