    Located near Lake Kamafusa, this is Tohoku’s most extensive public park administered by the national government. It is becoming a popular sightseeing spot since it is close to sightseeing areas such as Akiu Onsen. Visitors can experience Tohoku’s nature and culture, and it is worth seeing the flowers that bloom across the four seasons. Tulips in the spring, and the fields of cosmos flowers that bloom from summer to autumn fill the park with color.

    Approximately a 10-minute walk from the Shiraishi Station on the Tohoku Main Line, and a 10-minute drive from the Shiraishi Interchange off of the Tohoku Expressway, this museum is located alongside the Ote Ichinomikado gate to the Shiraishi Castle inside the Masuoka Park. The shop on the first floor of the castle sells items unique to the castle and other Japanese washi paper-craft products, and other local specialties such as Umen. One can enjoy at the restaurant various dishes incorporating umen such as shojuro umen using white miso, and their specialty soft ice cream. On the second floor is located the historical archive as well as a 1/100 scale model of the donjon surrounding the castle and other displays showing the steps by which the model was built. On the third floor is a theater which plays films in which the castle was used as a backdrop.

    売店に「名物生いちごのソフト」というのがあったので食べてみました。どこが生やねん!という以前に、全くイチゴ感は皆無。300円返せー!

    This lifetime learning center is located in MurataTown, Shibata County. It is comprised of exhibit halls, a library, a video room, seminar rooms, and other facilities. The permanent exhibit hall features exhibits on topics including the history of the town and folk entertainment. There is also a special exhibit hall that hosts several special exhibits each year. A festival float from Hotei Festival, a tradition dating back eight centuries, is displayed in the entrance hall.

    道の駅に隣接しているので、寄ってみるといいです。無料なのですが、意外と面白いです蔵の町のことがわかります。

    Hanatopia Iwanuma is a 4.8-hectare flower-themed area of green space that was developed to help contribute to local development and the revitalization of the local economy. This large park has flower-beds and flower gardens with seasonal flowers, lawns on which children can play happily on the grass, leisure facilities, and direct sales outlets. A farmers’ market is held every Saturday and Sunday, and the “Hanatopia Flower Festival” is held each year from mid-May through into mid-June when the different flowers in the park are coming into bloom. A wide variety of other events are held throughout the year.

The elevated cultivation allows you to pick strawberries in the standing position, and the large space allows even wheelchair users to participate without difficulty. It also offers a variety of options that go with strawberries, including ""dipping your berries in condensed milk"", and is especially popular with families with children and couples. Strawberry picking is held from January to May; closed on Thursdays and Fridays."

    This strawberry farm is located approximately five minutes from Joban Expressway Torinoumi parking area (smart interchange). Visitors can pick Tochiotome strawberries, which have a nicely matched high sugar content and moderate acidity, from mid-January to early June. JA Miyagiwatari, area is also known as the Shonan of Tohoku that makes the most of its warm climate to cultivate its strawberries. In addition to Tochiotome strawberries, it also cultivates Mouikko strawberries, which are characterized by their large size and juiciness. This farm is proud to produce the largest number of these strawberries in the Tohoku region. The farm has ground-level cultivation, which are easy for children to pick, as well as elevated cultivation, which can be easily picked while standing, so people of all ages, from children to adults, can enjoy harvesting the strawberries.

    いちご狩りができる観光農園です。直売所もあると聞いていましたが、入るとすぐにいちご狩りの受付になっていました。亘理にはJA系と独立系がありますが、こちらはJA系です。あまり商売っけがなくて素朴な感じがしました。

The Mouikko strawberries are cultivated in multiple houses, which focus on elevated cultivation that allows people to harvest them while standing. The direct sale store on the farm sells strawberries from Kouchan Strawberry Farm, as well as local Watari strawberries. Customers can also buy them as souvenirs. Reservations are not necessary, but the farm may be closed when the number of strawberries available for picking decreases, so it is recommended that visitors phone ahead to check the situation."

    A 15 minute walk from Abukuma Express Kakuda Station. This facility was built to serve as a symbol of Kakuda City, the location of the JAXA Kakuda Space Center. From the Space Tower observation deck, visitors can see the city and all the way to Zao Mountain Range. The Cosmo House has space-themed exhibits such as a full-sized model of a satellite, a real rocket engine, videos, and more. There's also an actual-sized, 49 meter tall model of the H-II, Japan's first entirely domestically produced rocket. The facility's shop sells space-themed merchandise.

    The modern building at the foot of Mt. Zao housing the Miyagi Zao Kokeshi Kan is a museum of kokeshi wooden dolls which opened in 1984. Traditional kokeshi wooden dolls and wooden toys from around Japan are displayed, and approximately 5,500 items are divided clearly by their lineage. The museum offers a place to touch as well as see by having a corner to view demonstrations as well as a shop, and visitors can enjoy painting their own doll. It is approximately 25 minutes by car from Shiroishi Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway.

    Zaimokuiwa Park is a park located downstream from Shichikashuku Dam that takes as its theme both water and the valley’s rock formations. The “Obara no Zaimokuiwa” rock formations (with a “grain” resembling that of wood), which have been designated as a National Natural Monument, are located on the opposite bank of the Shiroishi River. Every year in late April, large numbers of carp streamer can be seen swimming upstream, which makes for a very impressive spectacle. Children enjoy playing in the stone fountain in the Park. There is also a fishing pond, a farm restaurant, and a store selling local farm products. Zaimokuiwa is a great place to relax and unwind.

    高齢の母も連れ家族でお邪魔しました。ご主人様がとても気さくに案内してくださり、楽しく桃狩りができました。終了後に皮や種が入ったバケツを返しに行くと奥様なのかな?バケツの中を素手で確認し始め、こんな食べ方をして!と怒られました。確かに小さな子供もいましたし、食べ方が綺麗ではなかったかも知れませんが、素手でバケツの中を掻き回して確認した驚きと怒られたショックでとても残念な気持ちで帰ってきました。もう行...
