- Miyagi Pref. Miyagigunrifuchou Akanuma Idojiri 132-2
- Taritsuan is a seafood restaurant in Matsushima, one of Japan’s top three scenic spots. The restaurant’s two signature dishes are the Hitsumabushi, (eel on rice) using carefully selected domestic conger eel, and the deep-fried oysters, made with oysters from the best regions of the season. As well as these lunches available in limited quantities during the week, and various course meals, guests can order deep-fried oysters from as little as one oyster or more. Guests can also enjoy magnificent views of Matsushima from inside the restaurant.

- Miyagi Pref. Miyagigunmatsushimamachi Matsushima Namiuchihama 10
- This long-standing restaurant celebrated its 85-year anniversary in 2016. It uses fresh fish obtained in the morning from the Shiogama Seafood market, and it uses special “Zaogyu” beef for its meat dishes. The focus on quality in its ingredients makes its menu options quite popular. In fact, its “anago rice bowl,” one of Matsushima’s famous dishes, routinely sells out in the morning. It’s about 15 minutes by car from the Matsushimakaigan Interchange on the Sanriku Expressway.

Miyagi Areas
Lying along the northeastern coast of Japan, Miyagi prefecture is home to lashings of natural parks, oysters, and hot springs. While the bustling city of Sendai offers some simple city entertainment, it’s the Matsushima islands that deserve the most attention, having boosted the prefecture’s reputation as one of Japan’s most scenic views.
