Take a left at the Aqua Gate Exit of Hon-Shiogama Station on the JR Senseki Line and head towards Minato-machi along Kaigan-dori Street. This shop stubbornly continues to make and sell Sasa kamaboko steamed fish paste using the same traditional recipe and methods since it first opened its doors here in the birthplace of Sasa kamaboko. Visitors can take a guided tour of the production factory and then enjoy fresh cooked kamaboko. The Sasa kamaboko grilling experience is also popular and allows you to grill and eat Sasa kamaboko (reservation required at least one week in advance). The shop's restaurant serves the kind of dishes you can only enjoy in Japan's top fresh tuna port, such as seafood rice bowls topped with fresh seafood and tuna delivered straight from Shiogama Port.

    お土産に武田の笹かまぼこをもらったことがあって、とてもおいしかったので、お店に連れて行ってもらいました。出来立ての笹かまぼこはアツアツでおいしかった。

Lying along the northeastern coast of Japan, Miyagi prefecture is home to lashings of natural parks, oysters, and hot springs. While the bustling city of Sendai offers some simple city entertainment, it’s the Matsushima islands that deserve the most attention, having boosted the prefecture’s reputation as one of Japan’s most scenic views.
