    Sendai Wild Plants Garden, which extends over the western slopes of Mt. Dainenji, is a botanical garden that is mainly focused on the wild plants of Japan’s Tohoku Region. Visitors can view characteristic local plants such as iris and acorn-bearing oak trees, as well as beautiful seasonal flowers. The Garden also has extensive grass lawns, and is a popular place for relaxing under the shade of the Japanese zelkova trees. A variety of special events are held in the Garden, including photography exhibitions and nature observation activities, etc. The autumn Bush Clover Festival attracts particularly large numbers of tourists, with concerts, moon-viewing parties, etc.

    その時期の見ごろのお花をパネル展示してあったり丁寧な仕事をされている植物園です。豆子蜂(人を刺したりしないとても小さな蜂)の家の展示があったり楽しめる場所です。

    This botanical garden is located in Prefectural Route 62 in Otaki, Akiumachi Baba, Taihaku Ward, Sendai City. It has been planted with 15,000 plants representing 200 varieties including many that are native to the prefecture. Visitors can stroll through the garden while viewing azaleas and rhododendron in the spring or changing colors of the foliage in the fall.

    秋保大滝に行った際に駐車場の隅の方に秋保大滝植物園がありました。入園料は大人240円で150坪の園内に900種の植物を見ることができます。また、園内から「すだれ滝」を見ることができます。

    A multipurpose center which aims to promote agriculture by making it easy for people to come in contact with it. The center sells seedlings and potted plants and also has facilities such as a plaza for holding events and a self-service restaurant. The center also has a farm cultivated by city residents and offers cooking classes. The facility has a rose and plum garden and holds rose and plum blossom festivals when the plants are in bloom. During the festivals, a variety of street stalls open for business and staff give tours of the gardens at specified times.

    This botanical garden at Mt. Izumigadake has a variety of flowers that you can enjoy depending on the season. These include rhododendrons in spring, Montbretia in summer, and sage flowers in the fall. There are a number of trails that visitors can wander, taking in wild grasses and flowers growing together in their marshland or mountain habitats. The Nanakita Dam is visible from part of the garden. There is also a cafe and a variety shop where you can take a break if you get tired.
