Most of the restaurant's menu selections are accordingly simple and served with mugimeshi boiled barley and rice. The tail soup, made by slow-stewing beef tail, is a secret yet highly popular dish the restaurant serves. This hearty dish is sure to satisfy.

    The Matsushima Tourism Association Oyster Shack is a tourist-oriented oyster café run by the Matsushima Tourism Association. The Oyster Shack is a prefabricated building with iron cooking plates and pipe chairs; unshelled oysters are cooked rapidly at a high temperature on the metal plates for visitors to eat. Set Meal A, which includes all-you-can-eat oysters as well as oyster rice and oyster soup, needs to be booked at least one day in advance; Set Meal B, which includes only all-you-can-eat oysters, does not require advance booking. The Oyster Shack only operates during the winter months when oysters are in season, from late October through to early March.

As well as these lunches available in limited quantities during the week, and various course meals, guests can order deep-fried oysters from as little as one oyster or more. Guests can also enjoy magnificent views of Matsushima from inside the restaurant.

    A five-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and a drive from the Shiroishi interchange. This umen noodle restaurant, situated inside the Shiroishi City Merchant House Museum, operates out of a distinctive remodeled late Meiji period home. Operated by the Shiroishi Umen Association, the restaurant serves a variety of umen noodle dishes and also sells local Shiroishi specialty products such as Japanese washi paper, kokeshi dolls, and of course umen noodles to take home. The restaurant is only open from 11:00 to 14:00, but it can also be reserved for events such as banquets and Buddhist memorial services outside these hours. Particularly recommended are the mabo umen noodles topped with mabo dofu, and the lunch special set which includes rice, a side dish, dessert, and more.

    うーめん目的でランチタイムに訪問しました。 店内は風情があり、お土産用の商品も取り揃えてありました。本日のランチ、その日は焼き魚ホッケの定食と迷いましたが、温麺三昧を連れは天ぷらうーめんを注文いただきました。 温麺三昧は3種類の汁のそれぞれの味が楽しめて美味しかったです。 連れが頼んた天ぷらと温かいうーめんも頂きましたが、天ぷらはサクサクでうーめんもやさしい味で美味しかったです。
