    食堂ではカレーライスやうどん、そばなどを味わうことができますが、地元の味覚ではわかめラーメンや磯ラーメン、牡蠣ラーメンなど、ラーメン系が多いです。わかめの入ったソフトクリームも道の駅名物です。時間が15:30までとちょっと短いので注意。

    お店の人になぜビーフビレッジなのかきくと昔短角牛の郷だったらしく今はほとんど飼ってないらしいがそのまま残っているらしい。そのためレストランメニューも何品か牛肉料理が残してあるとのこと。盛岡から宮古に抜ける道の最初の道の駅。この周辺には店らしきものはないので休憩場所として利用価値あり。
