"This beach is located in Gappo Park and represents Aomori City. The north side of the park is right on the beach, and since it isn't far from the urban center of the city, summer sees the park filled with people enjoying the water. A tanka inscription by Takuboku Ishikawa is in the park, along with a commemorative stone monument inscribed with the words of Shiko Munakata. Also, in the center of the park, you can see the city's designated natural monument, ""Sansho no Matsu."""

This is a shallow beach with peaceful waves near Mt. Tsubaki, which marks the northernmost point that Japanese camellias will grow naturally. This beach, which was selected as one of the 100 best sights in Japan, sees over 30,000 visitors each year. There are very few waves at the artificial beach, which stretches out roughly 500 meters, making it perfect for families with young children. It also has showers and changing rooms. You can have barbecues in the summer, making it a great destination to have fun with your friends.

Centuries-old stories of samurai at Kakunodate and the remains of millennia-old archaeological sites including the likes of Isedotai invite history buffs to delve into Aomori’s fascinating history. As the most northern prefecture on the Japanese mainland, Aomori enjoys a cooler climate, which makes it a welcome escape from the southern cities for combining castles, art galleries, and summer festivals with the great outdoors.
