    A roadside station with a restaurant serving soba noodles made exclusively with buckwheat grown and ground into flour in the Nango area. In addition to being able to enjoy this renowned handmade juwari soba, visitors can also purchase locally grown farm-fresh vegetables and fruits as well as pickles and other foods made from the same or even stay in the station's convenient hotel. Visitors can also try making their own handmade soba noodles here.

    南郷は、蕎麦で有名らしい。新蕎麦が出たばかりで、販売会を行っていた。650円で山菜蕎麦を食べた。言うほど、美味しくはなかった。

    This science museum displays the reactor room of the nuclear-fueled vessel, the Mutsu. This public display of a reactor room is a world first. The ship's actual turbine and external propeller/mechanisms to propel the ship with nuclear fuel are also displayed in a way that is easy to understand. Visitors can book a tour around the museum with explanations provided by an instructor up to a week in advance. Machining workshops and observations of science experiments are also organized by the museum.

    信じられなかったです。絶対無料と思ったのに、入り口から中を覗いて、¥300円の価値は無いと確信しやめました。(入り口での判断:深謝)

    A restaurant and souvenir shop which provides sightseeing information on the Kanagi Town area, sells local specialty products, and serves regional cuisine. Kanagi Town is also the hometown of renowned author Osamu Dazai, and events relating to the writer are also held here. In the Hana restaurant inside the specialty products hall, you can enjoy a rice bowl, a favorite of Dazai's.

    リニューアルしての店内は新鮮な野菜、お土産など販売してました。また中華そばの味は昔ながらの懐かしい味で美味しく頂きました。皆様是非立ち寄ってくださいね。産直メロスへ。

    Located next to the Kawauchi Dam and Lake Kawauchi, considered one of the 100 most beautiful dam lakes in the country, this is the northernmost roadside station on the island of Honshu. The facility has a restaurant where you can eat keiran sweet bean paste-filled rice cakes and other local dishes as well as soba noodles and cuisine made with highland vegetables and other local ingredients. There's also an observatory and a shop selling local specialty products from Kawauchi Town. The surrounding area is maintained as a nature park called Lakeside Park built around Kawauchi Dam, and here you can enjoy beautifully seasonal natural scenery.

    大間崎から海峡ラインをひたすら走り、疲れた頃にちょうど良い休憩ポイントです。地元の野菜の直売もあり、この日は立派なゴボウと長芋を数百円で購入できました。

    A roadside station located in a town surrounded by verdant mountains and vast ocean. Here you can purchase fresh and safe local produce and specialty products. In addition to selling seafood, vegetables, flowers, and edible mountain plants, the station's live performances by local food processing groups showing how their products are made are also popular. The station hosts several light meal shops and a restaurant where you can eat ichigoni, a local soup made with sea urchin and abalone, as well as uni rice bowls and seafood ramen.

    This Shinto shrine is about ten minutes on foot from both the Nijusannichi-machi and the Jurokunichi-machi bus stops. Located on the summit of Mt. Choja, it was built in 1678 by Nanbu Naomasa, the second feudal lord of the Hachinohe Domain. The shrine structure visitors see today was constructed over a ten-year period starting in 1826. Its various Edo Period (1603-1868) characteristics have earned it the status of a prefectural treasure. From the first to the third of August, the shrine holds its annual Sansha-Taisai Festival, a nationally Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. Other well-known events are the Hachinohe Enburi Festival on February 17 and its Kagami-style Kiba Dakyu Tournament on August 2, featuring a traditional equestrian sport.

    八戸市街にある長者山の山上にあるジンジャ・シュラインです。1678年に創建され、八戸三社大祭などの八戸の主要な祭礼の舞台になる場所です。訪問時、残念ながら境内には少し荒廃の兆しが見えたように感じましたが、良いアトモスフィアの場所でした。御朱印あります。

    In addition to a farm-fresh shop selling local specialty products and a restaurant, this roadside station has an indoor heated pool and a large public bath. The grounds also host the Ikarigaseki Sekisyo Museum. The station's soba noodles, made with locally-grown Japanese yams; ramen, quince yokan jelly, and post-bath drinks are particularly popular.

    A roadside station located near the Owanihirosaki Interchange in Hirosaki City's Ishikawa area, one of the greatest apples producing districts in the city. There's a light meal restaurant where you can enjoy oyaki baked dumplings, apple sweets, and other local favorites; and an interactive museum where you can learn about the history of apples and apple logistics. There's also a farm fresh shop and adjoining agricultural products factory where you can by apples and other fresh, local fruits and vegetables as well as jams, apple pies, apple bread, and other goods made with apples.

    A roadside station standing along the Oshu Kaido (Rikuu Kaido) Road and located close to Shichinohe-Towada Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen. Inside the station, you'll find a local specialty products shop selling arts and crafts such as Nanbu sakiori textiles and Nanbu koema votive tablets, in addition to local specialty foods like pickled Chinese yams and garlic oil. There's also a restaurant serving dishes made with local ingredients and a farm-fresh shop selling an abundance of fresh farm products. There adjoins the Takayama Uichi Memorial Museum of Art.

    This museum exhibits artifacts excavated from the Kamegaoka site as well as those from other sites within the city and prefecture. At a reconstructed pit dwelling, dolls crafted to look just like people from the Jomon period (14,000-300 BC) recreate life as it was during the time, and even speak to visitors in their ancient language. A replica of the goggle-eyed dogu clay figurine on display at the Tokyo National Museum is currently being exhibited.

    北海道・北東北の縄文遺跡群のユネスコ世界文化遺産登録と関係があるのか10月中旬から11月上旬まで入場料200円のところが無料でラッキー。名前のとおり、展示物は軽め。スマホスタンプラリースポットにつき足を運ぶ人は多そう。まちおこしや観光誘客効果に期待できるか定かではありません。

    This is the house of the Takahashi Family who were the official rice merchants of the Kuroishi Clan in the Edo feudal period. It is a historical building boasting more than 200 years of history since it was built between 1751 and 1763 and is designated as an Important Cultural Property. There is a coffee shop on site, and coffee and tea using water drawn from a well, as well as handmade sweets (anmitsu) are popular.

    2月末の、吹雪が舞う平日。ひとりで弘前から弘南鉄道で黒石に行ってみました。 まず、高橋家住宅で温かいコーヒーでも、と思って行きましたら、冬は「冬眠中」だとか......。残念です。 古い家屋や町並みに、とても興味があるので楽しみにしていたのですが。次回は、暖かい季節に訪れて、雪辱を果たします^^

    The exhibition hall at the Kamegaoka Archaeological site, known primarily for the goggle-eyed dogu clay figurines excavated there, it has a variety of other artifacts excavated from the site on display such as earthenware and stone tools. Demonstrating surprisingly advanced technological prowess, lacquerware and glass balls from antiquity are also exhibited.

    つがる市の縄文遺跡「亀ヶ岡遺跡」の資料館です。今風の展示の仕方ではなく、少し古いタイプの展示の仕方という印象ですが、展示品は見応えがあります。アクセスは少し分かりづらい道を進むため、ちょっと不安になりました。

    This is another area of sacred ground on the Tsugaru Peninsula besides Mt. Osore, and is located in Kanagi-machi, Goshogawara City. The over 2,000 statues of Ksitigarbha create a unique atmosphere. A large festival is held every year from June 22th to June 24th of the old calendar, during which mediums channel spirits as they do on Mt. Osore.

    五所川原市金木の芦野湖の東岸にある、 ブッダ・オドウです。地域の特徴的な土着信仰が色濃く残っており、独特のアトモスフィアに包まれています。訪問の際には敬虔さを忘れずに。

    Aomori Nishitsugaru-gun Fukauramachi
    This museum is made in the style of an ancient log storehouse reminiscent of the Shosoin (treasure house). It was established in 1980 so as to properly convey the prospering local culture and history to future generations as part of a port town that inherited its culture from the Jomon period. From all over the area centered on the Ipponmatsu Ruins, they have on display artifacts from everyday life that have been classified as tools used in daily life, farming tools, mountain woodcutting tools, and fishing gear.

    国道101号沿い、深浦町役場のすぐそばにある小さなミュージアムです。これといって特筆すべき展示物はありませんでしたが、落ち着いた良いアトモスフィアが感じられました。個人的には、屋外敷地のはずれのほうにある猿神鼻洞門が非常に興味深かったですね。

    Lake Jusanko has been designated a National Historic Site and is also said to produce the most delicious Japanese basket clams in the country. This roadside station, located on the grounds of a highland farm on the shore of the lake, is a scenic and soothing space; the station's terrace has a sweeping view of Lake Jusanko and a park on the station's grounds called Mobayashi Park is outfitted with a forest walking path. You can also buy souvenirs and farm-fresh products here as well.

    15時過ぎに訪問しましたが、シジミラーメンが食べたくて、注文しました。スープを飲むとシジミの出汁がきいているのと、シジミの数が多く、身まですべていただきました。帰りにはシジミを宅急便で送り、道の駅を跡にしました。
