    This museum in Aomori City’s Aomori Waterside Area opened in 2011 to introduce the history and charm of Aomori’s Nebuta Festival. Inside the building there is a hall containing four floats used in the festival and a “Nebuta Museum” corner where one can learn about the festival’s history. The food area where one can enjoy lunch while looking out over Aomori Harbor is also popular.

    A museum located five minutes on foot from Aomori Station. This museum ship houses displays on its service as a railway liner since it began operating in 1908 from when it carried numerous passengers and cargo to Hakodate until it ceased service in 1988. The Hakkodamaru, which served as a ferry for the longest period of time, is preserved almost as if it were still in service. On self-guided tours around the ship visitors can enter the bridge and descend into the engine room.

    The Tachineputa Museum which stores and exhibits Tachineputa (standing floats) that are used in the Tachineputa Matsuri festival is also a place where visitors can see the creation process of the floats and have a go at traditional local Tsugaru crafts. Visitors can enjoy dining in the observation lounge, Harunire, overlooking the Tsugaru Basin, and enjoy taking a break at the open cafe, Plum. Various events such as the Goshogawara Nebuta music practice also take place here. The museum is located approximately 15 minutes from Goshowara Interchange on the Tsugaru Expressway.

    This is an experience-based tourist facility in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, themed on local culture including the Hirosaki Neputa festival and the Tsugaru region. The permanent exhibition features displays on Hirosaki Neputa and accompanying musical demonstrations. One can learn about local craftwork and have a production experience, and in the Tsugaru shamisen corner one can not only listen to a live performance but also try playing the shamisen under the guidance of a professional. There is also a free to enter shopping area offering locally-produced vegetables, apples and handicrafts.

    This is an aero science hall located in a corner of “Misawa Sky Park” neighboring Misawa airport. It was opened in August 2003 with the theme of “Aviation” and the “Sky.” On the first floor of the building, a YS-11, used as a Japan Air Commuter, is displayed unchanged since its time of active service. In addition, outside the Museum, a replica of Miss Veedol is on display in the Sky Park. Visitors can enjoy seeing, touching and learning about aviation history. The second floor is a science museum with hands-on exhibits, consisting of a corner where experiences and experiments can be done, and the third floor has an observation deck overlooking Misawa airfield.

    A beautiful museum with both outdoor and exhibition. My husband and I enjoyed especially Honda Jet, which is amazing. There are a lot of experiences you actually participate in.

    The Oirase Stream Museum is a roadside station-like facility located on the Towada Highway. It has a coffee shop and snack area, a souvenir shop, and an area where you can learn all about the natural splendor of Towada Hachimantai. Electric bikes are available to rent and can be used to explore the surrounding area.

    奥入瀬渓流館の窓口も親切で、手作りできる苔玉や、苔ソフトクリーム、そして、あら、りんごの店舗が入っていて、イートインスペースがあり、アップルパイは美味しかった。

    A museum located in a corner of the outermost region of the grounds of Hirosaki Castle. The solemn museum building was designed by architect Kunio Maekawa. The museum displays historical materials relating to Hirosaki Domain as well as arts and crafts. The museum's popular mascot, Inocchi, was modeled after an earthen figurine of a wild boar in the Museum's collection dating back to the Jomon period.

    戦国大名津軽家の歴史を中心に貴重な資料を拝見させていただきました。今では青森市が県の中心でしたが、当時は弘前が中心ということが分かりました。

    A visitor’s center for the nuclear fuel cycling center located in almost the exact venter of Rokkasho Village on the Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture. The building is modeled after a nuclear fuel cycle ring. The third floor offers a sweeping 360 degree panorama of the Mt. Hakkoda, the Pacific Ocean, and the nuclear fuel cycling facility. Through large models, videos, information panels, and games, visitors can have fun learning about the Rokkasho Reprocessing Plant. The visitor’s center also offers guided tours with easy to understand explanations provided by a center staff member with an advance reservation.

    原子燃料サイクルについてのPR施設です。1991年開館ですので、展示内容に陳腐化が見られますが、原燃燃料サイクルの概要について学ぶことができます。入館料は無料、物産コーナーで六ヶ所村特産の長芋の焼酎も購入できました。

    This museum is in the Nejo Castle Ruins, which is designated as a national historic site, along Shirahagi Line in Higashigamae, Nejo, Hachinohe City. There are four display halls, exhibiting specimens of archaeology, history, folklore, and intangible culture, covering Hachinohe's history and folklore from the Jomon Period through the Edo period. They also offer the Jomon Room full of activities and lectures, where you can touch Jomon potsherds and more to learn about history up close.

    This is a fine overall history of this region of Japan from pre-history days until Meiji period; it has displays specific to area and how they fit into Japant history.

There is a permanent exhibition of the works of nine literary persons from Tsugaru, such as Katsunan Kuga, Kouroku Sato, Zenzo Kasai and Osamu Dazai. In addition, there are special exhibitions which are figured out to deepen our understanding of the local literature. In addition, each literary person's literature monument is guided, and they are useful for visiting the places of connection and memory.

    多くの文学者を輩出した津軽です。お恥ずかしいのですが文学の世界には全く疎い私なので評価し難いです。弘前城南側の多くの文化施設が集合しているエリアに有ります。

    This literature museum opened in 1994 to give visitors a comprehensive overview of the literary world of Aomori which gave rise to many distinctive writers from the Meiji Period up to the present day. The museum's permanent collection features exhibits centered around 13 of Aomori Prefecture's most iconic writers:Koroku Sato, Ujaku Akita, Zenzo Kasai, Kojiro Fukushi, Yojiro Ishizaka, Komatsu Kitamura, Yao Kitabatake, Kyozo Takagi, Osamu Dazai, Kan'ichi Kon, Tetsuo Miura, Hideo Osabe and Shuji Terayama. In addition, it also holds special exhibitions three times a year.

    This science museum displays the reactor room of the nuclear-fueled vessel, the Mutsu. This public display of a reactor room is a world first. The ship's actual turbine and external propeller/mechanisms to propel the ship with nuclear fuel are also displayed in a way that is easy to understand. Visitors can book a tour around the museum with explanations provided by an instructor up to a week in advance. Machining workshops and observations of science experiments are also organized by the museum.

    信じられなかったです。絶対無料と思ったのに、入り口から中を覗いて、¥300円の価値は無いと確信しやめました。(入り口での判断:深謝)

    This museum is made in the style of an ancient log storehouse reminiscent of the Shosoin (treasure house). It was established in 1980 so as to properly convey the prospering local culture and history to future generations as part of a port town that inherited its culture from the Jomon period. From all over the area centered on the Ipponmatsu Ruins, they have on display artifacts from everyday life that have been classified as tools used in daily life, farming tools, mountain woodcutting tools, and fishing gear.

    国道101号沿い、深浦町役場のすぐそばにある小さなミュージアムです。これといって特筆すべき展示物はありませんでしたが、落ち着いた良いアトモスフィアが感じられました。個人的には、屋外敷地のはずれのほうにある猿神鼻洞門が非常に興味深かったですね。

    A museum which seeks to convey the wonders of the sea from the perspective of fisheries. The museum has many exhibits, including a giant aquarium filled with fish from the ocean off of Hachinohe, a touch tank where visitors can actually touch live sea creatures, and a black-tailed gull exhibit. The museum's feeding demonstrations, deep sea virtual reality exhibit, and experiment corner are popular with children. Visitors are also recommended to eat in the museum's observatory restaurant, which offers a sweeping view of Hachinohe Port.

    This is the northernmost museum on the main Japanese island of Honshu. The museum displays pottery, stoneware, and other artifacts excavated from the ruins of the village, as well as trade goods brought about by the Santan trade from China (Qing Dynasty) during the Edo period (1603-1868). There is also an exhibition of honorary villager Gotaro Mikami, a doctor who followed the spirit of the Red Cross. At the entrance, there are models of the floats used in the Yanonemori Hachimangu Shrine annual festival which has been handed down in the village since 1696, so you can learn about the history and culture of Sai Village.

    This museum operates out of a structure built in 1931 which was modeled after the architecture of the East Malling Research Station in England. The facility serves as a space for culture, sightseeing, and learning. Visitors can learn about the results of local fruit cultivation experiments as well as the history of apples in Aomori. In addition to exhibits, there's an apple activity zone where visitors can take a quiz on a PC, and a theater where you can observe what involved in the cultivation of apples over a one year period.

    "This museum is located a ten-minute walk from Aomori Station's West Exit. This renaissance-style building, surrounded by rich greenery, was built to be the Aomori City Obayashi Ward office building in 1908, and is a city-designated tangible cultural treasure. There are seven display rooms revolving around the hometown of Aomori inside, teaching such lessons as the importance of nature and connecting people to nature. You can also see the room of the forestry bureau chief used in the movie ""Mt. Hakkoda."" Everyone from children to the elderly can learn while enjoying themselves. The garden contains more than a hundred varieties of trees, including Yoshino cherry, hickory, and Hiba cypress, which provide a full view of the beauty of the four seasons."
