At Sahoro Bear Mountain the largest species of Hokkaido brown bear can be observed in an environment close to their natural habitat. You can get up close with the bears moving about in the forest from behind the safety of the reinforced windows on the bear watching bus and you can watch the bears go about their day from the relaxed setting of the high-rise walkway. You can also get to touch the bears through the glass of the special viewing area located in the middle of Bear Mountain; a truly memorable experience!

A park in Otofuke, Kato, Hokkaido. The large grounds cover parts of Otofuke, Ikeda, and Makubetsu and include a water playground, playfields, a large trampoline Bouncy Dome, and plenty of other natural play areas. Camp grounds are also available, as are bicycle rentals, making this the perfect place to spend your free time.

Situated along National Route 241 in Konan, Ashoro Town, Ashoro County, Hokkaido Prefecture. This museum collects and studies paleontological materials with a focus on the fossils of marine mammals excavated in Ashoro. Exploring the plant and animal life of Ashoro as well as tracing the history of the planet, exhibits include the skeletons of a variety of whales as well as examples of the extinct, mysterious Desmostylus. The museum also offers curator guided tours and activities like a miniature dig and replica making.

勉強になったのは、復元の際に解釈差がある事。たしか、3パターンある例が展示されていました。一番気になったのは、指の本数…。方や指4本、方や指5本とか。えっ？そんなにブレるの？正解は、誰にも分からないけど復元は、正解ではない事。たしかに、恐竜なんて誰も見た事ないよね。

"This art museum is about a 30-minute drive from the Tokachi-Shimizu Interchange off the Doto Expressway. It was founded to honor the work of Nissho Kanda, who described himself as ""Farmer, and artist,"" and to serve as a base and promoter of Shikaoi's artistic culture. Nissho's work itself is marked by his use of painting knives to paint on plywood. Exhibits include many pieces that pursue a sense presence of the subjects, or that create the impression of following the observer. The museum also offers materials for those wishing to study Kanda's work, and they allow drawing and observation of representative works like his ""Indoor Landscape"" and the unfinished piece ""Horse""."

２月の正午頃に然別湖コタンで氷のバーや教会を見学した後に、然別湖ネイチャーセンターの２階でランチを頂きました。カレーやクラムチャウダーが美味しかったです。店員さん達も丁寧でした。然別湖畔ではランチはこちらで頂くことをお勧めします。

In addition to swans, there are mallards and common goldeneye ducks that stop by here for sanctuary during migration. This location is also filled with mystical beauty in winter, with phenomena like diamond dust, when the air is filled with ice crystals, and mist from the water's surface. It's truly filled with moving sights.
Fukuhara Memorial Museum

This museum is located about an hour's drive from Obihiro Airport. It was founded in 2007 by Jihei Fukuhara, founder of Tokachi and Kushiro area supermarket group Fukuhara, Inc., because he wanted a way to exhibit the collection he'd accumulated over long years. The building has five display halls of varying size, and the exhibition of 150 pieces of fine art includes western style paintings by artist Itsuki Saito and traditional Japanese works by Noriko Fujii. The 13,200 square meter grounds are covered in beautifully manicured lawn, and offer an enthralling view of the changing seasonal scenery. The Japanese yew trees dotting the grounds including some registered ancient examples that are said to be 1,000 years old.

This outdoor activity center is located approximately one hour from Obihiro City. It has a paddle-shaped sign posted along Tokachi River. Visitors can enjoy rafting, Canadian canoeing, trekking and lake smelt fishing here. TOM's Tokachi River rafting is one of its best experience menus, which allows visitors to experience the great outdoors of Hokkaido. Visitors can challenge the roughly 2.5 kilometer course twice, as they travel through nature, surrounded by natural forest. Rafting over the large rocks and powerful waves is very popular with everyone from children to adults, and in the fall, visitors can also enjoy the vivid colors of the autumn leaves.
Tokachi-gawa Downriver Disaster Prevention Facility (Tokachi-gawa Museum)

This facility is located approximately a 10-minute walk from Ikeda Station, or a 20-minute drive from Aoyama Interchange. The museum is open only on weekdays, and contains exhibits about rivers and dams. There are currently no guides for the museum, however visitors can freely examine the exhibits. Reservations are required at least one week in advance for group visits. A major feature of the Tokachi River Experience Panorama on the first floor, is that visitors can press a button to view a simulation of the effects of the weir collapsing due to heavy rain. Another attractive aspect of the museum is the 3D theater on the second floor, as well as many exhibits that are easy to understand just by looking at them. There is also a fish tank which contains the different types of fish that live in Tokachi River.

This is a park with vast lawns, and a huge flower clock “Hanak” at the center. The clock has a diameter of 18 meters and a second hand of about 10 meters in length. The farm's homemade jams made with just berries and beet sugar are a popular item to buy via mail order. During harvest season, you can try berry picking yourself. The picking fee depends not on how long you pick but rather by the quantity.

トムラウシ温泉に向かって道道を走ると左側、富村牛小学校の向かいにある集落唯一の商店。子供向けの駄菓子や登山客向けのカップ麺のほか、オリジナルのＴシャツなども売っています。食事もできますが、こちらの味付け鹿肉や鹿ハンバーグはとても美味しく、冷凍で地方発送もできます。簡易郵便局も併設していて、宮下奈都さんの「神さまたちの遊ぶ庭」に登場する清乃さんが全てを切り盛りしています。
