- Located in the highest area in Hokkaido, this hot spring is also often used as a base for climbing Mt. Tokachidake, a mountain which rises to over 2,000 meters above sea level. Mt. Tokachidake is also an active volcano, but visitors can still enjoy casual mountain climbing here, and the mountain is particularly renowned for the beauty of its fall foliage. The district has two springs-colorless Spring No. 1 and reddish-brown Spring No. 2. Spring No. 1 is an acidic iron-containing aluminum calcium sulfate spring. Its waters contain melanterite, a powerful antibacterial substance, and its waters are said to treat cuts, skin diseases, and athlete's foot. Spring No. 2 is a calcium sodium sulfate spring, and its waters are said and its waters contain substances said to have a calming effect in addition to treating high blood pressure and rheumatism. Outdoor baths in the district offer views of the area's superb scenery; the fall foliage and the frost covered trees in winter, in particular, are not to be missed.

- A hot spring inn surrounded by vast natural beauty halfway up Mt. Tokachi in Kamifurano Town, Hokkaido whose baths are constantly replenished kakenagashi style from a natural source spring. The waters of the inn's acidic sodium calcium chloride sulfate spring are said to treat a variety of ailments, including nerve pain, muscle soreness, joint pain, motor paralysis, joint stiffness, bruises, sprains, frozen shoulders, hemorrhoids, and chronic digestive diseases. These same waters can also be drunk, and doing so is said to help alleviate chronic digestive diseases, chronic gall bladder inflammation, gallstones, chronic constipation, diabetes, gout, and obesity. The Fukiage Roten no Yu, a free outdoor bath, is located a five minute walk from the inn. There are no changing rooms near the bath, so women may want to come wearing a swimsuit or wrapped in a towel.
