    This Tokachi ranch produces and sells handmade confections, raw caramel, and cheese and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2014. The handmade caramel is crafted carefully over many hours and has won the Monde Selection for six consecutive years since 2011. They are closed in the winter season so please check before visiting.

    A cooking classroom located in the Tokachi Millennium Forest tourist garden in Tokachi. The classroom makes use of the knowhow cultivated in the garden's Nochiyu cheese workshop. The facility's classes consist of three parts. First, participants learn about the plants and animals living in Tokachi and about cheese making. Next, participants make real mozzarella cheese from curds. Finally, participants slice the cheese and place it on a pizza for baking before getting to try the finished product. Classes are held twice a day, but only in summer. Advance reservation required.

    An organic berry farm. The farm avoids the use of agricultural chemicals and chemical fertilizers if at all possible, cultivating its berries according to a proprietary method. In addition to haskap berry, standard black currant, and gooseberries, the farm also grows red currant and white currant berries. The farm's homemade jams made with just berries and beet sugar are a popular item to buy via mail order. During harvest season, you can try berry picking yourself. The picking fee depends not on how long you pick but rather by the quantity.

    Shihoro Town is known for producing some of the greatest quantities of potatoes in Japan. The JA Shihoro City coop gives tourists the chance to dig up their own potatoes fresh from the farm. Potato digging is offered from mid-August to late September. A reservation is required but groups of up to 50 can be accommodated. And of course you can take home the potatoes you've pulled from the ground. The potatoes grown in Shihoro Town are primarily used for making potato chips. Here you can get a rare opportunity to get your hands dirty and harvest this common foodstuff that is a common part of our daily lives.

The farm's motto is ""bringing smiles to the world through good flavor"" and they make and sell their own cheese and soft caramel. Hanabatake Bokujo's flagship product soft caramel is beloved for how it melts in the mouth. It has won the grand prize at the Monde Selection contest nine years running. Their popular hand-made cheeses are made with 100% Tokachi milk, and their melted Raclette won grand prize at the ALL JAPAN Natural Cheese Contest."

    A certified educational dairy farm where visitors can learn about the importance of food and the value of life. Situated in the center of Hokkaido, the farm raises around 1,500 head of cattle. A calf is born on the farm almost every day, and visitors can come in contact with a good cross section of the dairy farming industry through activities such as calf suckling and milking. The farm also offers butter making and ice creaming making activities using its fresh milk, making this a fun destination for the whole family. This farm is also the only one in Hokkaido to run a biogas operation, turning waste into methane gas for fuel; and to hydroponically cultivate melons using the waste heat of gas engines.

    The largest communal farm in Japan. The total area of the farm is some 1,700 hectares, the equivalent of 358 Tokyo Domes. Naitai Kogen Farm primarily raises milk cows. A dairy breeding farm, Naitai Kogen Farm looks after other owner's milk cows, artificially inseminating them and returning them just prior to calving. Deer and other wild animals also sometimes appear on the spacious grounds. There's a mountain on the farm with an observatory at the top offering a sweeping view of the area. The farm also has a rest house serving soft serve ice cream and Japanese wagyu beef hamburgers.
