    Hokkaido Yubarishi Momijiyama 526-19
This rest area is connected to JR Shin-Yubari Station, along National Route 274 in Yubari. They offer the famous Yubari Melons, as well as farm-fresh foods from direct sales areas, and their take-out area has Yubari sweets to try. The Yubari Melon Baum Kuchen, made in limited batches each day, are a big hit.

We decided to stop over at this roadside station on our way to Sapporo from Obihiro. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find that it was closed (given the GPS location) and soon realised the actual...

    Hokkaido Yubarishi Suehiro 2-4
A ski resort in Yubari Hokkaido. This resort has 18 runs ranging from beginner slopes to an advanced slope boasting a 43% incline. Equipment is available for rental and skiing/snowboarding runs are offered as well. Here you can fully experience winter sporting activities in their lovely powdered snow. Along with the slopes eat at the restaurant where you can taste ramen yakisoba and curry with ingredients made from local Hokkaido wheat.

Worst ever hotel experience in Japan. Dishonest shameless Japanese trainless stuff, awful frozen food buffet, tiny snow field. Can not even deal with a basic toilet washlet issue. Never come again.

    Hokkaido Yubari-shi Shikanotani 1
"The sweet aroma of this old Japanese confectionery shop, established in 1931, entices passers-by. A specialty of the shop is the delicious ""Cinnamon Donut"", simply made with flour, eggs and butter and dusted with refreshing cinnamon. Only bean paste made from ""Tokuaka"" adzuki red beans grown in Tokachi are used to fill the donuts. Enjoy the light, crispy texture, and nostalgic sweetness of the bean paste that melts in your mouth. The aroma of cinnamon makes your mouth water."

    Hokkaido Yubari-shi
This restaurant is located in the unstaffed Numanosawa Station on the JR Sekisho line serving innovative cuisine using Chinese yam grown in Yubari. Taste authentic western dishes created by the chef, who trained in the Imperial Hotel in a relaxed, modern atmosphere. Recommended dishes include the Chinese yam hamburger course, Chinese yam omelette, and corn soup made with fresh corn in the summer. Enjoy the taste of locally grown ingredients in the variety of dishes available.

Hokkaido Main Areas

around-area-map

Not just a prefecture but an island of its own, Hokkaido is the most northerly prefecture and island of the Japanese archipelago. Arriving in Hokkaido, which is rural and bursting with breathtaking nature, means entering a world where vast national parks, towering mountains, and natural hot springs can be found at every turn. Come December, these natural splendors freeze over and morph into a winter wonderland.
