    Hokkaido Hakodate-shi Omachi 15
Located a three-minute walk from the Omachi tram stop, this artificial island is in the western part of Hakodate. Half of this pentagon-shaped artificial island, which was built with sediment material generated from the servicing of Hakodate Port, is blanketed in grass. Other than being used for such activities as soccer practice and kite flying, you can also enjoy other activities such as jogging and fishing. With the installed benches and pavilion, you can leisurely gaze at the sea. From the surrounding walking paths, you can look out over Mt. Hakodate, the cityscape of the western district and the red brick warehouse. On clear days, you can even make out Mt. Komagatake and other beautiful mountains in the distance.

Hokkaido Areas

around-area-map

Not just a prefecture but an island of its own, Hokkaido is the most northerly prefecture and island of the Japanese archipelago. Arriving in Hokkaido, which is rural and bursting with breathtaking nature, means entering a world where vast national parks, towering mountains, and natural hot springs can be found at every turn. Come December, these natural splendors freeze over and morph into a winter wonderland.
