This is a gourmet burger restaurant located in the Bay area of Hakodate in Hokkaido, and its colorful clown signboard is a landmark. The interior of the restaurant is like a forest with the keynote being green, and there is a merry-go-round style wooden horse and swinging seats, with an atmosphere which is the same as an amusement park. The most popular burger is the “Chinese chicken” which has a Chinese flavored salty-sweet sauce. For groups, the gigantic “Mount Hakodate Burger” where three burgers can be enjoyed together is also popular.

This restaurant is located about a three-minute walk south from the Suginami-cho tram stop. As the name of the store suggests, serves cuisine of the Basque region. There are private rooms other than the main hall, so customers can enjoy a quiet meal. The owner is the first Japanese chef who trained under the chef known as the father of Basque cuisine. The chef continues to create authentic dishes that are true to the Basque region. There is also a course menu that combines fresh Hakodate seafood and homemade ingredients.

An American-style western restaurant located just after the Horaicho tram stop. Decked out in green and wood, the interior of the restaurant has a very relaxed feel. Their signature dish is the Beast Special Omurice, a light and fluffy omelet on rice. Their soft, melty beef tongue stew is also very popular. Additionally, there’s a wide choice of western-style food on the menu, such as rice pizza made with butter rice and bacon, and pork sauté, etc. They also have a large selection of alcohol to choose from.

最寄りの駅は宝来町だとは思いますが、乗り換えも面倒なので、十字街で市電を降りて向かいました。オムライスが有名ということで伺いました。アメリカンテイストな感じの雰囲気でいた。ホワイトソースのオムライスをいただきましたが、美味しかったです。和食に飽きたら、テイスト変えるにはいいと思います。

Operating out of a remodeled old Fukaya Rice Shop in a traditional Hakodate-style building, the structure still retains its lovely mixture of Japanese and Western influences. The establishment offers a variety of pinchos, bite-sized dishes typically served in bars in Spain. The menu includes a wide selection of dishes made with local marine products such as seafood preserved in oil or vinegar and cream croquettes. The simple homemade shishitora sausage is made with just 100% pork, salt, and paprika. The bar also stocks an array of alcoholic beverages including a special wine crafted by a Japanese maker in Spain.
