    Hokkaido Abutaguntouyakochou Touyakonsen 40-16
This eatery with about 60 years of history is located in Toyako Onsen. The store is known for its home cooking that uses vegetables picked in the morning, local seasonal seafood and locally raised meat. The small interior has a relaxing atmosphere that feels like you're at home. The scallop and egg rice bowl is highly recommended. It has young shellfish fry taken from Funka (volcano) Bay cooked with egg over rice, and comes with shellfish miso soup and pickles. The Tonkatsu Set using fresh Date golden pork and pork cutlet rice bowl are also popular. The fresh sashimi assortment is also a perfect match as a snack when drinking.

TIP:It seems only 4 families can fit at once + bar space. This is house transformed into a family business. Because it is a traditional home, you must remove your shoes. The staff don’t speak much...

    Hokkaido Abutagunkimobetsuchou Shiribetsu 2-5

Hokkaido Areas

around-area-map

Not just a prefecture but an island of its own, Hokkaido is the most northerly prefecture and island of the Japanese archipelago. Arriving in Hokkaido, which is rural and bursting with breathtaking nature, means entering a world where vast national parks, towering mountains, and natural hot springs can be found at every turn. Come December, these natural splendors freeze over and morph into a winter wonderland.
