    This long-established confectionery store was founded in 1936. There are approximately 30 varieties of cake for sale all throughout the year in this tasteful store that symbolizes good old Showa. The ingredients are carefully selected, using local produce from Hokkaido as much as possible, and the store continues to create health-friendly confectioneries that do not include preservatives. This popular store is said to be known to all in Otaru, and to this day, continues to create traditional flavors that are loved by everyone from small children to the elderly.

    This specialty pudding store is located five minutes' walk from Minami-Otaru Station. The cozy store uses generous amounts of fresh eggs and milk to make its prized puddings. The most popular pudding is its Pudding Daifuku, which is characteristically soft to the touch. This incredible sweet is covered in gyuhi soft skin made of refined rice flour and sugar and is with fresh cream and jiggly pudding inside, and completely melts in your mouth. There are also various other puddings, such as the pure white custard puddings made with dairy products from Hamanaka, Hokkaido, and fresh eggs from Yoichi, as well as Strawberry Framboise Puddings, which have a whole raspberry inside. The store is also famous as the first specialty pudding store to open in Hokkaido.

    南小樽駅からも近く、生協南店向かいの坂道沿い、セブンイレブンの裏側にあるお店です。小さいけれど洒落た店構えです。 ４００円前後もするお値段のプリンもおいしいですが、お勧めはプリン大福。求肥みたいなお餅に包まれたプリンが食べ応え満点で、お得感あります。食べにくいのが難点ですけど。

    This western-style confectionery store, recognizable by its pop, American logo on the wall, is located approximately ten minutes from Asari interchange toward Asarigawa Onsen. For over 20 years since its establishment, the store has been creating and selling authentic French confectionery that is loved by local customers. The owner-chef of the restaurant is a talented person who has studied in Europe for ten years and has experience serving as head French chef at Sapporo Keio Plaza Hotel. The store's Otaru fresh cream pudding is a special dish that boasts a rich taste with a refreshing aftertaste and is made with plenty of pasteurized milk from Yamanaka Dairy Farm in Akaigawa Village and mellow 48% fat-content fresh cream. The bitterness of the coffee flavor further enhances the gentle sweetness.

    Opened in 1929, this long-standing cake shop began business as a restaurant and shop selling the Otaru specialty of panju, a mix of bread and manju (a bun with bean-jam filling). Now the shop specializes in selling cookies, creme caramel, baumkuchen (a German variety of cake) and other kinds of confectionary. Its signature product is the baked Marron Coron, famous also as a sweet from Hokkaido. In the cafe area on the second floor are wine red sofas where you can sit back and enjoy the fine sweets such as the popular cream zenzai (sweet red bean soup with ice cream), cakes and parfait all in the retro style surroundings of the Showa period. The nearest station is Otaru Station.

    Located close to Otaru Station is this shop of the famous Hokkaido confectioner, LeTAO. In the display inside the shop you can find colorful fresh cakes including their signature cheesecake Double Fromage, and roll cakes, available in limited quantities. Chocolates and baked confectioneries from here are particularly good as gifts. They also have a cafe area which is busy both with locals and tourists.

    小樽駅前のドーミイン小樽の隣にあります。本店まで行かなくても、買い忘れたお土産を買うのに便利です。店内で食べる所もあります。

    A unique specialty chocolate store managed by the famous Hokkaido confectioner and former chocolate company, LeTAO. More than 50 kinds of chocolate made from a variety of ingredients carefully selected from around the world are on display here in the shop. Of these only about 20 kinds of chocolate are sold at LeTAO le chocolat. They have a wide choice of products only available at the store such as chocolate drinks made by the chocolatiers and the rich and creamy chocolate soft ice cream. The nearest station is Minami-Otaru Station.

    This Japanese-style confectionery is about 10 minutes on foot from Minami-Otaru Station. The modern stone shop on Sakaimachi-dori Street in Otaru is also a new tourist attraction. They particularly recommend their Kaitaku Okaki snacks and Fairy Forest baumkuchen cake, created to commemorate the opening of their main shop. Their baumkuchen is made the old-fashioned way, with craftsmen wrapping paper around oak cores and painstakingly baking them one by one. To keep them moist, they're left to mature overnight at a constant temperature. You can observe the bakers making baumkuchen at the store.
