Sapporo Beer Garden is a complex of restaurants located to the east of Sapporo Station. There are five restaurants full of individuality with different tastes and atmospheres on the site where a historic red brick building stands. Among them, Kessel Hall has an enormous beer brewing cauldron (kessel) made in 1912, and you can enjoy draught beer directly from the brewery and “Genghis Khan” cuisine in a large space like a beer hall. In the Garden Grill, there is a fully private room complete with an exclusive terrace where you can relax and enjoy the private space.

This commercial complex facility is located six minutes by outbound rapid train (JR Hakodate Main Line) from JR Otaru Station at JR Otaru-Chikko Station (directly connected to Wing Bay Otaru). It was built as a place of expression in Otaru, a city that combines nature and culture. It has popular brand shops, a fitness gym, movie theater and a variety of restaurants. In addition, events are held on weekends inviting various performers.

Went there for clothes shopping early January 2019. Claimed tax free so that receipt was stapled in my passport. And I hadn’t take a photo of the receipt before leaving receipts at custom of Chitose...

Built in the eastern end of Odori Park, this television tower has a height of 147.2 meters. It was constructed when television broadcasting first began in Sapporo. Now it is popular as a view spot that affords a 360° view of Sapporo’s urban area. One can appreciate the scenery of Sapporo’s four seasons including the abundant greenery of Odori Park, the YOSAKOI Soran Festival, and the Sapporo Snow Festival from the observatory that is 90.38 meters from the ground below. Inside the tower is a restaurant and shop selling merchandise for the television tower’s character, Terebi Otosan (TV Dad).

This roadside station is on National Route 37 in Date City, Hokkaido. The fresh produce direct from the farmers often sells out by noon. The Kinki no Izushi, made with mature, high quality kinki rockfish, and Gold Pork are famous. The dining area, Handsome Shokudo, is popular for their Handsome Yaki desserts, with sweet bean paste or cream.

洞爺湖から室蘭へと向かう道すがら立ち寄りました。なんというか、完全にスーパーですね、ここは。このタイプの道の駅って他だと夕張がそうだったかな。地元物産も扱っていますが、観光客というよりは地元民向けでしょう。

"This manor was built as the private residence of wealthy merchant Teppei Souma in 1908. Teppei Souma amassed his wealth in selling rice and grains, contributing to the development of Hakodate by investing his personal money in ""Old City Hall of Hakodate Ward."" The Souma house has a structure decked out in luxury, and featuring a merging of Japanese and Western styles, so it is well worth a look. Volunteer guides are always available, and there are many audio guides (Japanese/English). In the adjacent cafe, they provide freshly brewed coffee, and healthy aronia fruit juice. The cafe overlooks the streets of Hakodate, including Hakodate Bay, and the Former British Consulate of Hakodate."

A mountain pass 835 meters above sea level located in Kimobetsu Town, Abuta County, Hokkaido. Located on the border of Sapporo City's Minami Ward, the pass is a major road along National Route 230. Roadside Station Boyonakayama, located at the peak of the pass, is a rest area where drivers can park and take a break. Visitors to the area can also take in the view of Mt. Yotei and the seasonal mountain scenery.

Wakkanai Fukuko Market started in 2007 and is the northernmost commercial complex in Japan. Located 20 minutes by car from Wakkanai Airport, there are souvenir shops, onsens and restaurants including the outdoor “Yatai” stall village called “Hatoba-Yokocho where you can eat gourmet foods from a wide range of genres ranging from ramen and yakitori to Russian food. You can also enjoy the Wakkanai Hot Spring “Minato no Yu”, an open-air hot spring on the second floor, and watch the ships on the busy ocean.

Dropped by the market after the morning visit to the Cape Soya via public bus. It was a quiet afternoon and I managed to grab my lunch before the shop rest for lunch hours. Pick up a Wakkanai...

This private literature museum was built through donations from Ayako Miura fans throughout Japan in 1998. She is a Japanese writer who was born in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido. A polygon-shaped building, it is in the Forest of Foreign Tree Species, which was also the setting for her masterpiece Hyoten (Freezing Point). The interior was renovated in April 2018 for its 20th anniversary. In the permanent exhibition on the first floor with the theme touch, panels and videos introduce the 35 years of Ayako's writing activities. It is an exhibition that you actually touch with your hands. In addition, you can freely view her pieces in video format in the second floor library room and audio-visual room. There are items such as books and other goods at the shop on the premises.

Museum is small but it is interesting.after the Museum we walk around the garden . Many different types of tree enjoy the fresh air and nature.

The Hakodate St. John’s Church is an impressive building with its brown roof in the shape of a cross which you can see when you ride on the nearby ropeway. The church is one of a group of famous churches in Motomachi. The clergy house, newly built in 2006, was awarded the Hakodate City Landscape Award. This roadside station is on National Route 238 in Saroma Town, Tokoro County, Hokkaido. Their Hokkai Shrimp Burgers, limited to 20 a day and made with Hokkai shrimp from lake Saroma, are quite popular. You can also enjoy charcoal grilled scallops and pumpkin soft-serve ice cream. The building was designed to resemble a cow barn and silo in tribute to the town's booming dairy industry.

ツアーのトイレ休憩で訪問しました。お店からの注意書きに目をやると思わずくすり。冷えた料理と、二人の仲を温めます。とか、男の店員に思わせぶりな態度を取らないで、仕事になりませんとか、換気には気を付けています。が店員のジョークが寒い時には、毛布をと言ってとか。外は吹雪いて寒かったですが、心は温まって出ました。

This day-trip hot spring facility opened in 1972 is located at the entrance to Obihiro. The large glass windows of this hot spring located in a forest give you a view of Japanese elm trees, cherry blossom trees and wild birds from the indoor and outdoor baths. The spring quality is a simple hot spring called moor, which turns brown when exposed to the air and is renowned for leaving your skin soft and smooth. There are a variety of bathtubs, including an indoor 100% moor spring with flowing water directly from the source, an outdoor bath, a traditional Chinese medicine steam bath and an infrared sauna. There is also a shallow walking bath space, which can be used with special bathing wheelchairs.

This onsen is pretty huge. They have both outdoor and indoor tubs, and which the indoor tubs has electric and jacuzzi options. After the onsen, hairdryer (free or 30yen for 3 mins Dyson hair dryer...

It was built on the site of the Kaitakushi Beer Brewery, which was the predecessor of Sapporo Beer, and used the red bricks from the building creating a historical feel. With limited edition items and one-of-a-kind stores, it is recommended for souvenir buying. There are also lots of ways to have fun, including a lush indoor garden, a cinema complex, and a beer hall.

The warship Kaiyou Maru struck a reef and sank off Esashi, Hokkaido in December 1868. 122 years later, in April 1990, a full-size replica of the frigate was completed. The replica ship now houses displays about the history of the late Tokugawa shogunate and about the different technologies used in the ship. Some of the approximately 33,000 artifacts salvaged from the wreck of the original ship are also on display; visitors can see how the artifacts are preserved, and can also experience a ship-sailing simulator. The museum is located approximately one hour and 50 minutes’ bus ride (Hakodate Bus company) from Hakodate Station.

Nice facsimile, looks good in the photos, but would sorely disappoint the marine historian. There are exhibits inside however we didnt go in as there were exhibits on display in he visitors centre...

This roadside station is located along National Route 230 that runs through Rusutsu-mura. It is placed in a scenic area where you can view Yoteizan, nicknamed Ezo Fuji, from within the facility. The restaurants there have menus that use local ingredients. In addition, at the direct sales store for agricultural, forestry and fishery products, they cheaply offer fresh vegetables harvested in the village as well as processed foods. Rusutsu-mura is known as the setting for the nursery rhyme Akai Kutsu (Red Shoes), and Akai Kutsu Furusato park is located right next to the roadside station 230 Rusutsu. In the park, besides a bathroom corner with a triangular roof where the melody of the children's song Akai Kutsu is played, there is also a bust of the famous pioneer of shiatsu (finger pressure) massage Tokujiro Namikoshi, where many people take commemorative photos.

This roadside station was constructed as a memorial hall for the Hakucho (Swan) Bridge on National Route 37 in Muroran City, Hokkaido. Try Muroran City's famous scallop tamayaki (fried dough balls) or fresh soft-serve ice cream made with Hokkaido milk. A model of the Hakucho Bridge, materials used, and more are displayed in the second-floor exhibition room. You can also view the bridge and Enrum Marina from the observation deck.
