    A tourist farm located a five-minute drive from JR Niki Station. Visitors can go fruit picking, and the farm grows some 1,500 fruit trees, including strawberry varieties such as the large-sized Kentaro and new Kita no Sachi, Gassan Nishiki cherries, and rarer varieties. The farm also offers grape and apple picking in the fall. Pets are allowed on the grounds as long as they are leashed and can even be taken into the fruit fields. Other highlights include an all-weather grape trellis grown in a greenhouse, and a jingisukan barbecue corner which can seat up to 200 whose salty-sweet dipping sauce, made with prunes, is particularly popular.

    "This tourist farm is 18,000 square meters in size and produces a variety of cherry such as ""Sato Nishiki"", ""Beni Shuho"", ""Nanyo"" and ""Suimon"", as well as prune varieties such as ""Sun Prune"", and ""Purple Eye"". Special attention is paid to using organic fertilizer and tree pruning. The farm actively collaborates with local elementary and junior high schools to convey the wonder of orchards and agriculture to the younger generation. At the charcoal grill restaurant on site visitors can enjoy charcoal grilled chicken and local wines and whisky. The indoor barbecue is also popular."
  • Nakai Tourist Orchard

    This tourist orchard overlooks the Sea of Japan and the township of Yoichi City. The farm prides itself on its ripe fruit grown using organic fertilizer, paying particular attention to fruits such as cherries, apples and grapes. All-you-can-eat fruit picking experiences for an unlimited time is available. Enjoy freshly picked juicy sweet fruit to your heart's content. The apple wine made from Bramley seedlings originally from the UK is popular. The apples cultivated on the farm are naturally brewed and bottled unfiltered making a refined, aromatic, moderately sour wine.
  • Horonobe Reindeer Ranch

    A unique reindeer farm where you can get up close and touch the animals. Newly refurbished and opened in December 1999 in a Scandinavian styled location approximately four kilometers from the city center of Horonobe. In the North Garden within the Reindeer Ranch, you can see the beautiful blue poppies fluttering in the wind for about a month between mid-June and mid-July. Reindeer are gentle, plant eating animals. During the month of May each year you can see the cute, baby reindeer begin their new lives.

    About 1.5 kilometers from JR Furano Station (about five minutes by car) is Noragama where both adults and children can have a go at pottery using their hands and the wheel. What’s more, situated in the middle of an onion field, is the must-see Gallery Nora created inside a 60-year old house. Displays and sales of items by creators from Furano and elsewhere are occasionally held here and you can enjoy the marvel of old and new, Japanese and Western, all contained within this old Japanese house. For lunch, Cafe Nora, adjoined to the gallery, is recommended. Reservations are required for those wanting a go at pottery. Opening hours change depending on the season so please check in advance for cafe opening times.
  • Shiretoko Nature Cruise Evergreen

    Enjoy bird watching throughout the year as well as whale and dolphin watching in summer (May to October) and drift-ice watching during the winter (January to April) on the sightseeing cruise ship, Evergreen. Cruises depart from Rausu fishing port in Shiretoko. Informative guides talk about the life and characteristics of the animals, and in winter you can see Alaska pollock fishing up close.
  • Kushiro Marsh Norokko Train

    The Kushiro Wetlands Norokko Train, taking roughly one hour or so, runs slowly from Kushiro Station to Toro Station. There are carriages on the train from where you can see the largest wetlands in Japan and some spectacular meandering rivers. It’s a pleasure to be able to take in the sights while ambling along at such a relaxed pace. The train runs from late April through to October every year. Reserved seats can be booked one month in advance.
  • Galaxy ‘Ginga’ Garden & Animal Farm ‘Midori no Makiba’, Ecorin Village

    Ecorin Village is a theme park in Eniwa City, Hokkaido, operated by Aleph Co., Ltd., famous for the hamburger steak restaurant chain, Bikkuri Donkey. Here you can see alpaca, sheep, llama and other animals grazing in the meadows, and the interaction with the animals and animal shows are particularly popular. There is also a Galaxy ‘Ginga’ garden which is home to 30 picture book-like themed gardens, two restaurants, and a cafe where you can eat the popular tomato flavored soft ice cream. They also have wool craft workshops and nature tours making this a great place for the whole family to come and enjoy the flowers and animals.
  • Sightseeing Cruise Hamanasu

    Sightseeing Cruise Hamanasu is located about 90 minutes by bus from the Nemuro Nakashibetsu Airport. The Hamanasu sightseeing cruises operate under a ‘slow watching principle’ with cruises departing from the Hamanasu boarding area located close to their Hamanasu office in Rausu. The relaxed pace of the cruises enable passengers to observe at close quarters without threatening the sea life. In addition to the popular whale watching, you can also see the drift ice up close in winter. Cruises usually last for about two and a half to three hours. Drift ice watching is from January to the end of March.

    At Kanno Farm, visitors can enjoy viewing a wide variety of different flowers and crops, including lavender (which comes into bloom around mid-July). The “Kinkonkanno” farm shop, which was renovated in 2010, sells a range of original lavender-themed goods, as well as vegetables and soft-serve ice cream delivered from a nearby pastoral farm. Kanno Farm is approximately 30 minutes’ drive from Asahikawa Airport, and 10 minutes’ walk from JR Bibaushi Station.

    Yamamoto Sightseeing Orchard is open from late June to mid-November, and visitors can enjoy various kinds of fruit picking according to the season. In the rest house in addition to Genghis Khan (a lamb BBQ type dish), special apple pie is also available. It is approximately five minutes from JR Yoichi Station by car. It takes about 95 minutes by bus from Sapporo city center.

    This is the former Hakodate post office built in 1911. The building is now used as a shopping mall, “Hakodate Meiji Hall”. You can choose one of your favorite songs from a selection of about thirty and create an original only-one-in-the-world music box at the handmade music box studio on the first floor. It is approximately 20 minutes by car from Hakodate Airport or a two-minute walk from Jujigai Station on the electric train from in front of Hakodate Station.

    The “Blue Moon” sightseeing pleasure cruise operates from the end of March until the end of December. It is the first cruise in Hakodate to be recommended as part of the Hakodate waterfront development. There is a bay cruise (duration is approximately 30 minutes) and a night cruise which operates during specific periods (duration is approximately one hour). It is located approximately 25 minutes from the Hakodate Airport by car, and about 20 minutes on foot from JR Hakodate Station.

    For starters, Charo Sheep Farm offers delicious lamb meat for sale, and also has manufactured items for sale. The farm also incorporates an owner system that allows you to enjoy dishes throughout the year that are accompanied by a recipe. As it is not a sightseeing livestock farm, please contact the farm in advance if you wish to visit. It is located about one hour by car from JR Kushiro Station.
  • Tokachi Cheese and Pizza Making Class

    A cooking classroom located in the Tokachi Millennium Forest tourist garden in Tokachi. The classroom makes use of the knowhow cultivated in the garden's Nochiyu cheese workshop. The facility's classes consist of three parts. First, participants learn about the plants and animals living in Tokachi and about cheese making. Next, participants make real mozzarella cheese from curds. Finally, participants slice the cheese and place it on a pizza for baking before getting to try the finished product. Classes are held twice a day, but only in summer. Advance reservation required.

    An organic berry farm. The farm avoids the use of agricultural chemicals and chemical fertilizers if at all possible, cultivating its berries according to a proprietary method. In addition to haskap berry, standard black currant, and gooseberries, the farm also grows red currant and white currant berries. The farm's homemade jams made with just berries and beet sugar are a popular item to buy via mail order. During harvest season, you can try berry picking yourself. The picking fee depends not on how long you pick but rather by the quantity.

    Shihoro Town is known for producing some of the greatest quantities of potatoes in Japan. The JA Shihoro City coop gives tourists the chance to dig up their own potatoes fresh from the farm. Potato digging is offered from mid-August to late September. A reservation is required but groups of up to 50 can be accommodated. And of course you can take home the potatoes you've pulled from the ground. The potatoes grown in Shihoro Town are primarily used for making potato chips. Here you can get a rare opportunity to get your hands dirty and harvest this common foodstuff that is a common part of our daily lives.

For the DIY gift course, for making the Donan traditional ikameshi with sweet and spicy squid, uses sesame oil with the rice, giving it a slightly Asian flavor, to which uni, scallops, and other seafoods are added and eaten there on the spot
