    This is the Sapporo head office of Rokkatei, probably the most famous confectioner in Hokkaido. The building houses a shop, a cafe, a concert hall, and a gallery. You can purchase Rokkatei confectionery from the shop on the first floor, including their classic Marusei Butter Sandwich Cake, and the Marusei Ice Cream Sandwich Cake, amongst other things. Light food and desserts are served in the cafe on the second floor with the aromatic mugwort mochi (rice cake) and croissants being particularly popular. It’s a popular place to visit for tea or lunch as well as a great place to come and buy some souvenirs when sightseeing in Sapporo. The nearest station is Sapporo Station.

    The Milk Workshop is a confectionary shop run by the Niseko Takahashi Dairy Farm. It sells confectionary that includes soft serve ice cream using fresh milk from the dairy farm directly next door and local 100% rice flour swiss rolls. The location is also attractive with a sense of openness from gazing at Mt. Yotei, which is a symbol of Niseko.

    What a treat! Ice creams, cream puffs, cheese tarts are our favorite. Hokkaido milk products are just top-notch!

    A total of 27 shops, mainly eating and drinking establishments, are housed within the red brick terrace at the side of the former main government building of the Hokkaido Prefectural Government Office (Red Brick Government building), a well-known tourist attraction. There are facilities such as a viewing gallery and an atrium terrace where you can get in touch with nature. Akarenga Terrace is situated five minutes on foot from JR Sapporo Station, two minutes on foot from the Sapporo Subway Station on the Namboku Line, and five minutes on foot from Odori Subway Station on the Namboku and Tozai Lines.

    “LeTAO” is a large, well-known sweet shop located in Chitose City, Hokkaido. There are two buildings on the vast site of 5,280 square meters, divided into three themes of sweets, a bakery and a café. In the shop building you can purchase not only popular items as souvenirs, but also homemade breads and the store’s own roll-cake baked in the kitchen on site. In the café building with a large sunlit window, you can enjoy a meal menu offering beef stroganoff, omelet and fresh pasta, as well as pancakes which two types of cheese melted on top which are also popular.

    A wholesale shopping street located next to the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market. Originally a wholesale market for retailers, today anyone is free to shop here. The foods found here are stocked direct from the central market and are all fresh and reasonably priced. There are also many sushi restaurants, set meal restaurants, and ramen restaurants operating in the market, so visitors can dine in between exploring and shopping. Market closing days are irregular. Days when the market is closed are announced in advance on the market's website.

This is the New Chitose Airport location of the Tokyu Department store located in Sapporo's Chuo Ward. Here you can buy famous Hokkaido sweets like Rokkatei's Marusei Butter Sandwiches, Ishiya's Shiroi Koibito cookies, and Royce Baton Cookies; as well as Hokkaido fruits, vegetables, and marine products. The shop's selection of dairy products is the best in the airport; you'll also find an abundant selection of foods like ham and ramen.

    A Western confectionary shop located on the second floor of the New Chitose Airport domestic departures terminal building. The shop's Blue Honeysuckle Jewelry cookies, made with special Hokkaido blue honeysuckles, has been a beloved favorite since they were created in 1978. The White Mix version of the cookies is only sold at the New Chitose Airport location. Other popular selections which make great souvenirs include the gelatin made with Hokkaido fruit tomatoes, and the Tamago Manju buns made with eggs from Chitose.

    A Japanese and Western confectionary shop located on the second floor of the New Chitose Airport domestic departures terminal building. Kitakaro sells select original sweets made with Hokkaido ingredients. The shop offers a wide variety of products sure to be loved by men and women, young and old, such as its signature Yosei no Mori baumkuchens and the Kaitaku Okaki snacks, popular with men. The Yumekaze-sen, a gooey choux creme served in a cup, is only sold at the New Chitose Airport location; this popular treat is so delicious, it's a frequent purchase of cabin attendants and airport staff as well. The shop has an eat-in space where you can enjoy a sweet right after you buy it or soft serve ice cream, sold only here.

    Their cream puff is really the best. Very very generous with the cream filing. At 180yen... it is fantastic value and not to be missed when you are at Sapporo Dimaru or New Chitose Airport. Too bad...

It is a popular store with visitors from with and outside Hokkaido, and the crepe, with a best before date of only 30 minutes, has been featured by the media.     In March of 2016 this building was remodeled to become the Japanese confectionery Kitakaro's Main Shop in Sapporo. Originally called the Gyokei Memorial Hokkaido Public Library, it was built in 1926; it was later known as an art museum. The first floor is a shop designed on a salon theme. It displays the work of the painter Kotaro Migishi. The open atrium on the second floor features a cafe where guests can enjoy lunch and sweets while browsing among their roughly 6,000 books. Items only available at this shop include their classic chocolate cake and chocolate sandwich cookies; their croissant cream puffs are available in limited quantities. From the menu, their Kitakaro Jiman-no-Omurice rice omelets come recommended.

    A gallery which moved to its current location in 2014 selling crafts from the city of Hakodate in Hokkaido. The gallery building, built in 1935, carries an atmosphere which speaks of Hakodate's history and growth. In addition to conducting exhibitions of ceramics and dyed goods created by Hokkaido and other artists, the facility holds a variety of classes on crafts such as ceramics, tsumugiori weaving, flower pressing, and calligraphy. Depending on the day, rakugo comedic storytelling and other traditional performing arts as well as many other events are held here.

    Very nice collection of handmade textiles, crafts, jewelry, carvings, clothing, pottery. Very carefully curated by the owner. A must if you care about beautiful handmade traditional objects.

    This building was built in 1911 to serve as the Hakodate Post Office. This archetypal red brick structure that has survived through war and fire now plays a role in telling the story of Hakodate’s history. The inside of the building has become a shopping mall, and in addition to shops carrying Hokkaido’s folk art and glassware there is also a workshop in which visitors can try sandblasting and crafting music boxes, making this a great place to search for souvenirs. It is about a 15-minute walk or a five-minute drive by car from Hakodate Station.

    The Chitosetsuru Sake Museum has been awarded the gold award 14 years running in the National Research Institute of Brewing Awards. Real Hokkaido sake, born in Hokkaido and brewed in Hokkaido. In the museum is a display area where you can find out about the history and specialties of brewing sake, as well as a tasting counter. You can also taste the water used for brewing, said to be the lifeblood of sake, and purchase sake directly from the brewery at the shop. The museum is a five minute walk from exit 9, Bus Center-mae Station on the Tozai Subway Line. Entry is free of charge and the museum is closed only over the end of the year and New Year holidays.

    This souvenir shop with a wide array of items is located on the second floor of New Chitose Airport's Domestic Terminal Building. They have everything from classic souvenirs like Marusei Bata Sando cream filled cookies and Shiroi Koibito cookies to limited Hokkaido versions of nationally famous confectionery brands like Pocky and Hi-Chew. Apart from sweets, they also offer ramen and soup curry from a locally famous shop, processed seafood products, and dairy products including cheese and butter. All of their souvenirs are quintessentially Hokkaido. There are also items from Asahiyama Zoo and goods depicting popular local characters.
