  • Water Park Teine Pool

    This outdoor water park located in Teine Inazumi Park is the largest in Hokkaido. The central lazy river is one-meter-deep and 250-meter- long. It has seven other pools including a waterfall with an 8.3-meter-tall and a 6.6-meter-tall straight water slides. It is a popular destination for families with children.
  • Hanasaki Sports Park Swimming Pool

    A public pool located in Hanasaki Sports Park, the city's largest sports complex with an assortment of sporting facilities. The park was called Chikabumi Park when it first opened in 1941 but changed names to Hanasaki Sports Park in 1991. It's open for a limited time from July 1st to August 31st each year and is very popular with local residents. With a 25-meter pool, 50-meter pool, and a toddler's pool this is a spot the whole family can enjoy. As a public pool it has a reasonable entrance fee.

    This indoor hot spring amusement park is in Sapporo's retreat, Jozankei. It has a pleasure pool open 365 days a year inside Jozankei View Hotel. The overall area is over 4,000 square meters, making it one of the largest in Hokkaido. It has a wide variety of fun, including Splash River, a high speed thrill ride, a wave pool, and more fun for the whole family, from kids and adults. There are spa zones and outdoor baths you can use in your bathing suit, as well as saunas, for a huge variety of attractions.
  • Gennadai Kaihin Park, Sea Pool

    This leisure pool is in Gennadai Seaside Park, a sprawling area of greenery and play equipment near the sea. This bathing area is fully surrounded by breakwaters to keep the rough Sea of Japan waves at bay, so bathers can play in safety. This is the only beach in Hokkaido included in the Ministry of the Environment's the Best Beach 100 of Japan. It's particularly popular since the interior of the bay is such that the sea water flows steadily through, keeping waves under control for safe swimming. There are barrier-free toilets and changing rooms, with ramps down to the beach and even amphibious vehicles available, so it is a truly barrier-free beach.
  • Hoshino Resort Tomamu Mina-Mina Beach

    This indoor pool facility includes one of the biggest wave pools in Japan. The roof is glass, allowing swimmers to enjoy fun in the sun while still indoors. The wave pool has a low-wave time and a rough-wave time, with somewhat bigger waves, so both children and adults can have some fun. Smaller children can play in the 30 centimeter-deep kids' pool, or have a great time at the indoor amusement park with the popular giant inflatable rolling Cyber Wheel. There is also a popular interactive program where staff play with the children.
