The Doraemon Wakuwaku Sky Park in the New Chitose Airport terminal building is the world’s first Doraemon-themed facility to be built in an airport. In addition to a shop, the Sky Park has seven areas including a free kids’ zone, a library and a workshop area. You can eat in or take out at the cafe which has a menu featuring lots of cute pictures of Doraemon.

An amusement park operating inside Rusutsu Resort. One of the largest amusement parks in Hokkaido, the park has some 60 attractions. This includes eight popular and exciting roller coasters. There are also less stimulating rides for children and those who don't like thrill rides. The park has much more to offer on top of this, including go-carts, a merry-go-round, a mini zoo, garden, and game arcade. There are indoor and outdoor pools, too. The park is closed due to snow in winter, and during this time extra maintenance is conducted on the rides and attractions.

Took a day trip from Hirafu to ski Rusutsu. Need to book at Welcome center, ¥8600 include bus fare and 1 day ski pass. Good value, considering an All Mountain Pass at Hirafu is about the same. There...

The Museum displays the results of extensive research on the history and culture of the indigenous peoples of Hokkaido and also of other Northern peoples in other parts of the world. The Museum holds frequent lectures and seminars, and the Museum shop has an impressive range of books about Northern peoples. The Museum is situated around 10–15 minutes’ drive from Abashiri Station. To reach the Museum by bus, take the Kanko Meguri tourist bus service and get off at the “Hoppou Minzoku Hakubutsukan” bus stop.

I went here because my friend wanted to go. However I ended up falling in love with this place and came back with 2 music boxes. I hope I get a chance to go here again some day again.

Moerenuma Park is a comprehensive park in northeast Sapporo for which globally renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi created the basic design. Based on the concept of “the whole being a single sculpture,” it was recommended to build on a site where 2.7 million tons of waste had been put in landfill, and the park opened in 2005. Hills with geometric forms, fountains, and play equipment have been arranged in a vast site equivalent to 40 Tokyo Domes, allowing a landscape that fuses art and nature to be enjoyed. Another attraction is that seasonal pastimes can be enjoyed with cherry blossoms in the spring, water activities in the summer, autumn leaves in the fall, and cross country skiing in the winter.

The exterior of the building is modeled on the Palazzo Grassi in Venice while the second, third and fifth floor exhibition rooms, styled on the 18th century palace rooms, house an elegant museum. The museum hosts many special exhibitions in addition to the Venetian displays of interior design throughout the seasons and permanent displays of Murano Glass. You can also get dressed up in aristocratic or carnival-style clothing and have your photograph taken for posterity! The museum is a 10-minute walk from JR Minami-Otaru Station and a ten minute drive from Otaru interchange.

This shop sells lots of different coloured glass items produced locally. They are beautiful and intricate. Reminded me of Murano glass.

It was built as a place of expression in Otaru, a city that combines nature and culture. It has popular brand shops, a fitness gym, movie theater and a variety of restaurants. In addition, events are held on weekends inviting various performers.

Located 20 minutes by car from Wakkanai Airport, there are souvenir shops, onsens and restaurants including the outdoor “Yatai” stall village called “Hatoba-Yokocho where you can eat gourmet foods from a wide range of genres ranging from ramen and yakitori to Russian food. You can also enjoy the Wakkanai Hot Spring “Minato no Yu”, an open-air hot spring on the second floor, and watch the ships on the busy ocean.

Kushiro City Museum celebrated its 60th anniversary in July 2016. The Museum is focused mainly on themes relating to Kushiro, and it makes effective use of three-dimensional displays that incorporate surround sound to create a multisensory experience for visitors. The Dio-Nature-Dome, with its artificial sky, is a must-see. To reach the Museum from JR Kushiro Station by bus takes around 15 minutes; get off at the “Shiritsu Byoin” bus stop, and the Museum is five minutes’ walk away.

The exhibits in this museum do a great job of explaining the local history. While most of the exhibits are self explanatory, very few exhibit descriptions are in both English & Japanese.
