    Uono no Sato is just a 10-minute drive from Echigo-Yuzawa Station and is Uonuma's largest souvenir shop. It has an attached parking lot where even a large sized bus can comfortably park. Inside the spacious Japanese style building you'll find all sorts of local goods including candy, soba, and pickled vegetables as well as koshihikari rice from Minamiuonuma and Echigo sake wine, vegetables, and seafood straight from the bay. You can also try the local cuisine. In the fish center there's fish and crab on display and alongside this fresh and bargain priced seafood, including dried fish and processed goods, perfect for side dishes and snacks with a drink. With all of this selection it was chosen in 2017 as one of the 100 best tourist, food, and souvenir shops as chosen by professionals in the souvenir category.

    This rest stop in the foothills of Tateyama is a 15-minute drive from? Hokuriku Expressway's Tateyama Interchange. The food offers a variety of characteristic Toyama dishes, such as their black chashu (roast pork) ramen, notable for its dark black broth, and their sauce katsudon (sauce-flavored fried pork cutlet on rice), a Hokuriku regional delicacy. One of the souvenir shop's flagship offerings is Maboroshi no Masuzushi, delicious trout sushi made with more than twice the normal amount of fatty trout.

    This restaurant is located in Shirakawago, a world heritage site. You can enjoy a meal inside this kominka (old house) with a gassho (large thatched roof) style built over 250 years ago. Their menu is centered on unique local char dishes, mountain vegetable dishes, and meat grilled on magnolia leaves. Because they often receive many reservations by large groups, sometimes you can only visit by reserving in advance depending on the time of year. In addition, the second floor has an exhibition room decorated with old everyday items that depicts the lifestyle at the time to modern audiences.

    A drive-in rest-area in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City where you can enjoy a meal looking over Suruga Bay. Find a large number of unique Shizuoka souvenirs. The main building was temporarily closed due to aging in March 2017 but a temporary shop is set up for services.

    A shopping center located in front of Ichinohashimae at the entrance to the Oku-no-In temple. Here you can buy famous local specialty products and souvenirs from the Mt. Koya area and Wakayama Prefecture. The shop also carries numerous exclusive products like “Koya Mu” whipped cream daifuku, and “Koyasan Fukin” hand towels. The restaurant inside serves traditional Japanese Buddhist vegetarian cuisine, a famous aspect of the culture of the area around Mt. Koya. The restaurant uses fresh, seasonal vegetables and through this diner can experience the unique seasonal delights of the area. In addition, the facility provides a wide array of services for tourists, including information on sightseeing destinations and making lodging reservations, making it the perfect place to base one’s exploration of the Mt. Koya area.

It's certainly worth a visit when you come visit Shomyo falls to enjoy its changing ambience through the seasons.
