  • Teradomari Port

    This is the port where the freshest seafood from the Sea of Japan comes in. Running alongside National Route 402 you'll find the Teradomari Fish market, also called Ameyoko of the Fish. It's a popular location where you can get your hands on Teradomari fish, fresh seafood and processed goods from around the country at reasonable prices. Nearby the port is the Central Beach area and Minato Park were every summer the Teradomari Port Festival is held. There are lots of things to enjoy at the festival such as performances from the Teradomari Taiko drum corps and a fireworks display over the sea that you can watch from the beach. You'll also find fishing stores near the port and they'll tell you all the best fishing locations that even children will enjoy.
  • Kanazawa Port

    A port located in the center of the Sea of Japan coast which serves as a base for tourism and international trade. The port was created in 1954 by merging the former ports of Ono and Kanaiwa. The port bustles with large passenger vessels docking here from around the world. The port also has a scenic park, a fishing area, and other facilities. The Port of Kanazawa Cruise Welcome Club was established so that members could welcome and send off passenger cruise vessels in true Ishikawa style; members also get perks such as ship tours and commemorative mementos. Each year, during the Minato Festa Kanazawa festival, bus tours of the port and a variety of other events are held.

    A port situated in front of Shizuki, Awaji City. As no regular boat lines visit the port today, the port's terminal building is used as a bus terminal. In the Edo period, the port was known for its favorable winds, and on good days it is said a vessel could reach Naniwa (Osaka) in half a day. The entire large harbor dock in the center is a popular fishing destination and, thanks to the good tide flow here, many fishing lovers come here seeking to catch specific fish varieties. In spring, fishers can target black rockfish, fat greenlings, and righteye flounder; in summer, horse mackerel, pilchard, and mackerel. In addition to mornings and early evenings, night fishing here is also recommended.
  • Port of Miike

    A port located in Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Originally developed as a private port for the Miike Coal Mine, businessman Dan Takuma later started work on building an embankment, then later ownership was transferred to Fukuoka Prefecture. Closed in 1997, since that time the facility has been maintained as a public port. In 2015, the port was registered along with the Miike Coal Mine as a World Heritage Site.

    A passenger ship terminal located at 5 Chome Harumi, Chuo City, Tokyo. Passenger ships such as the Asuka II cruise ship arrive at and depart from this terminal. Terminal facilities include a parking area, attractive entranceway, and lounge. There's also a lobby for persons seeing off or waiting for passengers, and a multipurpose terminal hall. An observation deck on the sixth floor offers a viewing of the surrounding area, including Rainbow Bridge.

Visitors can stroll amidst townscape which retains much of the charm of a traditional, old-fashioned fishing town. The Funa Danjiri, a festival to pray for good catches which has been performed since the Edo period, is also held here in January.
