In addition to selling glass products such as drinking glasses and accessories, the workshop also holds glassblowing classes where visitors can experience glassmaking.

    About five minutes by car from Towa Interchange on the Kamaishi Expressway. An experience facility where you can learn about Narushima Washi, the northernmost Japanese washi paper with a tradition of more than 300 years. Narushima Washi is a simple Japanese paper made with a mix of paper mulberry bark and panicle hydrangea. Known for its unique, inviting texture, today it is mainly used for calligraphy paper, stationery, postcards, crafts, etc. Visitors can also join in a washi paper making experience where they create their own paper. The facility is also the production base of Narushima Washi, and you can observe the process in the winter when paper making is in full swing.

    This is the glass artist, Mr. Daisuke Takatomi’s Studio, Gallery & Café. It is located in the Toyako, Tsukiura district, the setting for the movie “Shiawase no Pan”, and has a nature filled space overlooking Lake Toyako. There are many varieties of practical glassware and some items that are not practical at all. It is a great place for making holiday memories as visitors can also experience glass blowing and glass sculpturing.

One can pick the tools, clay and glaze they like discussing their choices with the ceramic art teachers. One can try making cups, bowls and plates, either with the electric potter’s wheel or by hand.     A wooden crafts studio located in the Yamanaka Onsen hot spring village area. The studio is operated by an artisan who uses a lathe and chisels to create works out of unpainted wood. The studio offers short classes on making your own wood craft, and you can choose to make a bowl, small basket, or sculpture. After the bowls have been carved out, they are sent to a lacquer artisan to be lacquered and are then delivered to your home. The studio's shop sells beautiful bowls, chopsticks, and other warm and charming wood items.
