    Gunma Takasaki-shi Kurabuchimachi Kawaura 27-80
Kurafuchi Kawaura Onsen Hamayu Sanso, located in the mountainous town of Kurafuchi, has a hot spring that is rich in iron-containing spring water, which is rare in Japan, and can be enjoyed at Kurafuchi Kawaura Onsen Hamayu Sanso. The brownish-brown water has no odor and feels refreshing. In addition, guests can enjoy Japanese kaiseki meals prepared with locally grown ingredients.

"This ryokan inn is located a five-minute walk from the climbing trail for Mt. Daisen, also known as Hoki Fuji. Situated along the Miyuki Sando, the ""longest stone-paved road in Japan,"" the air of a bygone era hangs around the inn. The inn is around 100 meters from the Daisen-ji bus stop. A portion of the inn's guest rooms have views of Mt. Daisen and the Sea of Japan. The owner endeavors to create a familial atmosphere and is well-versed on climbing Mt. Daisen, and guests can ask him detailed questions about climbing the mountain. Another of the inn's merits is that it offers a full array of essential amenities, including hand towels, toothbrushes, shampoo, and yukata robes."

    Oita Usa-shi Ajimumachi Shimoge 1785-banchi
The Ajimuin Basin, where three clear streams flow against the backdrop of Mt. Yufudake, known as Bungo Fuji, is known as a famous suppon production area. Kenjiro Kinoshita, a politician and gastronome of the Taisho era (1912-1926), regarded Ajimuin as an ideal production area for suppon. The ryotei Yamasa Ryokan, which has maintained its tradition for more than 100 years, is a tasteful house where the proprietress welcomes you with a smile. The private rooms have been remodeled in a modern style, and the view from the window overlooking the garden is outstanding.

    Ishikawa Hosu-gun Notocho Yanami 27-26-3
This small inn, operated by an Australian chef and the Noto-born proprietress, accommodates just four groups of guests a day. It is situated on a hill in Yanami on the Noto Peninsula, and on clear days, guests can see all the way the Sea of Japan to the Tateyama Mountain Range. All of the inn's rooms are Japanese-style, and everything about the establishment, from the wooden beams spanning the ceiling to the views of the sea and the inn's Japanese garden visible from the windows, exudes a faintly nostalgic air. There's also a handmade outdoor bath in a corner of the garden where guests can soak and take in a view of the ocean sprawling into the distance. For food, the inn serves Italian cuisine made with local seasonings and ingredients from Ishikawa Prefecture. The inn takes great pride in hospitality which enables guests to truly experience Noto - for example, works of art by local artists are displayed in the guest rooms and dining room.

This was the highlight of our holiday. Beautiful surrounds, lovely decor at a special place in Noto. Chikako and Ben are passionate and proud of their place, and so they should. Delicious food...
