A municipal day trip bathing facility located in the Arima Hot Spring area, a famous hot spring site favored by the Imperial Regent Toyotomi Hideyoshi. This renowned public bathhouse, long operated here, was remodeled and reopened in 2002. The facility’s reddish brown waters come from the “Gold Spring” source. The bathhouse has men’s and women’s indoor baths as well as a rest lobby. The outdoor footbath and spring water station are free to use, and many like to stop here for a quick break during a walk. The closest station is Arima Onsen Station.

I think it’s a good starting point for first timers. It was my first time and I usually leave my backpack in a coin locker at the station but things were a bit hectic for me in the morning so I ended...

This hot spring facility is located in Yumoto, Nasu Town. It is said to have opened approximately 1,300 years ago. It is considered the oldest hot spring in Tochigi Prefecture, and many of the surrounding hot-spring hotels use it as their spring water source. The baths are divided into six temperature levels ranging from 41–48 degrees Celsius (there is no 48-degree women’s bath). It is said that by following the bathing protocol, such as pouring water over yourself before entering the bath, you can increase the hot spring’s effects.

Id been wanting to go here for a while as a day trip but heard it was too difficult. Its not. Just take the Shinkasen or the Shinjuku Liner and your up there in no time. So I decided to spend the...

This day spa is notable for its popular open-air baths with amazing views of Mt. Fuji. Despite their high alkalinity, its baths have a mild feel on the skin. They are also known to help get rid of dirt and deadskin giving bathers beautiful skin. In addition to two types of open-air baths, a lie-down bath, and jet baths, the spa also features dry and wet sauna. The name of the spa, which opens at 6:00 a.m. on weekends and holidays from December to February, originates from the views of a snow-capped Mt. Fuji dyed red by the sunrise that its baths offer.

Decided to combine this with our Chureito Pagoda visit. The bus ride from Mount Fuji station was fairly straightforward. There are separate areas for male and female - blue for male, red for female...

An open construction surrounded by Zao’s nature, it is a popular spot for enjoying the hot spring or peaceful walk through the woods. The hot spring water is of the highly acidic sulfur variety, also called the “beauty maker.” It is closed from December to the following March. Take the Yamako Bus to its last stop in the “Zao Onsen” direction.

Netsu no Yu in Kusatsu Hot Spring is a sightseeing facility where you can experience “yumomi,” a type of performance that has been passed down since the Edo period. Besides experiencing yumomi by following the lead of the female performers, there are many other daily events you can enjoy, such as the “yumomi dance show.” Particularly popular is the “yumomi-kun show,” which is performed by the “Thespakusatsu Challengers,” a sub-group of the “Thespakusatsu,” a local pro soccer team.

"This public bathhouse, which belongs to the Omaru Ryokan inn, can be reached by crossing the Seri River from the Nagayuyamawakisansaro Intersection and heading east a short distance. The bathhouse may be used by non-guests and is additionally adjoined by an art museum dedicated to artists connected to Nagayu Onsen such as Rikizo Takata and Yasunari Kawabata. Customers can enjoy indoor and outdoor baths filled with water from two different hot springs - a so-called ""ramune"" hot spring whose waters are said to treat high blood pressure and chronic skin diseases; and a hydrogen carbonate spring whose waters are said to treat cuts and burns. There's also a hot spring water drinking fountain, and drinking a suitable amount of this spring water is said to provide a variety of benefits."

The temperature of this spa is 32 degree celsius. A bit low compared to usual hot springs. Warm seasons will be better to visit here than winter. The bubble spa is outside, because of CO2 generated...

Gifu Takayama-shi Okuhida Hot spring village Hirayu
The oldest hot spring district in the Okuhida Onsenkyo hot spring village sprawling at the foot of Mt. Norikura. According to the Hishushi written at the end of the Edo period, the area was discovered when the mighty lord Takeda Shingen invaded the Hida region and happened to follow an old, white monkey to a hot spring. There are some 40 source springs in the district, and, depending on the location, visitors can enjoy a variety of hot spring qualities, including hydrogen carbonate springs, chloride springs, sulfur springs, and simple springs. Located close to Kamikochi and Mt. Norikura, the district is also used as a base for mountain climbing activities. Hantai eggs, boiled eggs with firm yolks and soft whites, are a popular local specialty made using the area's high temperature hot spring waters, which reach up to 90 ° C.
