Diners can enjoy authentic Okinawan Oden, which includes ingredients such as “Tebichi” (pigs’ feet) boiled slowly over a period of six hours. Takara Shima-oden is a long-established Oden restaurant which has been popular (especially with local people) for over half a century.

    This traditional restaurant has been making Kantodaki (Kansai-style oden one-pot dish) and octopus kanroni (sweetened and boiled octopus) since 1844. You can find it in the North Mall 1 of Whity Umeda, which is directly linked to the East Ticket Gates in Umeda Station of the Hanshin Electric Railway. This was the first restaurant to ever use whale tongue. Even now you can enjoy different parts of whale in oden or cooked in katsu cutlets. Their famous octopus kanroni has appeared many times in the media and in famous authors' novels. It is well known as Japan's oldest oden restaurant.

The secret to the restaurant’s popularity is its secret recipe oden, which has been continuously replenished and made the same way for over a half-century. Some of the oden options include kurumabu baked wheat gluten rings which gush out broth with every bite, daikon radish slices, boiled eggs, and ganmo deep-fried tofu and vegetables.     A long-standing oden restaurant established in 1936 located in a corner of the Kakinokibatake Shopping District a 10 minute bus ride from JR Kanazawa Station. The restaurant serves Kanto-style oden, a rarity in Kanazawa, which is slow-stewed in a dark soy sauce and bonito stock broth and eaten with ginger mixed with miso. Diners sitting at the counter can view the oden pot and order their favorites. Particularly popular selections include the gyusuji beef tendon, a Kansai standard; and the large whelk skewers. The restaurant is also famous for its salty-sweet misokatsu breaded culets covered with the same ginger and miso mix used with the oden.
