For beginners and families, they recommend fishing from the facility's pond where you can pay for your catch. There is also an area where kids can try grabbing trout by hand, as well as an open space for barbecues. They provide the gear and food (advance reservation required), so you don't have to bring anything. You can cook your catch there too.

Drivers can easily spot it at the 29th streetlight if they travel on the Venus Line Scenic Highway northwest from Lake Tateshina. Visitors can enjoy fishing in a mountain stream that flows into Lake Tateshina. Since fishing gear is available for rent and bait is available for sale, visitors do not have to bring anything with them to fish for rainbow trout or char. There is even a special pond where visitors may fish for up to three char. They can have their freshly caught fish charcoal broiled to eat right away, and there is also a retail store on the grounds.

The administration office is located in the farmer's store ""Uosaikan,"" and they sell bait and rental poles are available for a fee. With sunsets that have Taiko Bridge and Benten Island as silhouettes, it is also popular as a picnicking and sightseeing spot."

It is open every day of the year starting at 6 a.m. from April to October and 7 a.m. from November to March. It features a restaurant, clubhouse, and other facilities. Fishing fees depend on a variety of conditions. Visitors can rent a fishing rod if they do not have their own.

Anyone elementary school aged and older can master the unique local technique, which involves dangling a bamboo pole with a red cloth wrapped on one end in front of an octopus and scooping it out of the water when it latches on with its tentacles. Because hunting is conducted on a shallow shore, you don’t need a particularly robust coat or other heavy ocean fishing gear. Contests are sometimes held to see who can catch the largest octopus, with the top catchers receiving awards and local specialty products as prizes. An advance application is required, so be sure to apply with plenty of time before the day you intend to go.

The park can accommodate up to 450 people on its wharf, breakwater, and north side fishing areas. Even families and total beginners can enjoy fishing here.
