Visitors can rent camping equipment and there’s also a stone bath and Goemonburo bath. Reservations for spots two months in advance are accepted starting at 8:00 a.m. on the first of the month.

Forest Sons Nagatoro is an American-style campground boasting the largest number of travel trailers and cottages in the prefecture. The ground also has a tent site and visitors can even just camp for the day before heading home. Customers staying in a trailer house or cottage receive a free entry ticket to the Mangan-no-Yu bathhouse, which features an outdoor bath with a view of the pure stream flowing through Okunagatoro Valley and Mangan Falls.

The campground has equipment to hire and buy so if you do forget anything you won’t be stuck. With lots of wooden huts to stay in it’s a great place to enjoy some outdoor fun.

    人生初のラフティング、子供たちも満喫していました。 雨の中でのキャンプでしたが、シャワーもトイレも清潔で快適に過ごせました。 帰りに美味しい蕎麦も堪能し、SLも間近で見られて、充実した一泊二日になりました。

    This campsite located inside of beautiful Chubusangaku National Park has 35 tent sites and a capacity of 200 campers. It is also fully equipped with cooking facilities and toilets. The Renge Nature Trail (Renge no Mori Shizen-yuhodo) that starts here takes roughly two hours to complete and is known for its beautiful autumn foliage. The campsite is located next to Remge Onsen Lodge (Hakubadake Renge Onsen Lodge), which is popular for its four open-air baths each with a different source and their great views of the Northern Japan Alps, which includes Mt. Yukikuradake, Mt. Asahidake, and Mt. Gorinzan. The campsite is open from early July to mid-October each year and closes during winter.

    This huge park located halfway up Mt. Matsushirojo in Tokamachi City leverages the former site of Matsushiro Castle, which is surrounded by virgin forests and terraced rice-fields. Guests at the park can interact with its diverse nature. The park's facilities are also top-notch. They include about 25 outdoor art installations, a promenade from which guests can view the park's hydrangeas and irises, and a campsite (reservation required). The reproduction castle, built in 1981, is popular for the views of the cityscapes of Matsushiro District and the mountains of Uonuma from its observation deck. It also serves as the finish line for the Nottore Matsushirojo snow obstacle race held every March.

In the surrounding broadleaf forest of trees such as beech, Mongolian oak, and white birch, visitors can enjoy collecting of wild plants or mushrooms. The spacious grounds offer large campsites, including a permanent tenting site and cottages that visitors may want to use in bad weather. In addition, visitors can enjoy such outdoor facilities as a full-scale mountain biking course, fishing areas, walking trails, and a water park, all of which allow visitors to enjoy nature to their heart's content."

Other facilities besides tent sites include comfortable cabins for people looking to relax with family, bungalows that can be used with larger groups, a cooking area, showers, a fully equipped playground, tennis courts, and a fishing area. The beach can be accessed via a promenade from the camping site. In the summertime, campers can enjoy swimming to their heart's content. Some areas designated for people with pets are also available.

    This campground on the banks of the Ikazawa River is a 15-minute drive from Muikamachi Interchange. Located in a lush forest and full of the sounds of the river, the campground features a number of unique lodging facilities including an auto camping site with space for 80 cars, cottages, a central lodge, the Taka-no-Su (Hawk's Nest) campsite where guests can enjoy campfires. Guests can climb ropes and logs at the campground's playground, play on the Ikazawa River, or try fishing at the campground's fishing hole (summer only). The Uramakihatake Valley upstream of the Ikazawa River features a number of trekking courses. All in all, the campground is an amazing place to enjoy the beauty of nature.
