This vast wasabi farm in Azumino spans a space equal to 11 Tokyo Domes. Entry is free and the farm is open every day year-round. In addition to wasabi fields and a processing plant, visitors can enjoy the tranquil waterside scenery, including a water mill used in a Kurosawa’s film. The farm’s shop sells unique products found nowhere else such as wasabi soft serve ice cream and wasabi-don rice bowls. If traveling by train, a 10-minute taxi ride from Hotaka Station on the JR Oito Line.

The park is comprised of two main areas. The first is the environment and welfare plaza. Here you’ll find a park golf course, play equipment, and a tree peony garden. A tree peony festival is held here around mid-April. The other area is the Ume Park. This area hosts one of the largest ume (Japanese apricot) gardens in the Tokai area, as well as a blueberry garden. An ume festival is held here around mid-February. Special events are also held at the park during which it bustles with visitors. It depends on the ripeness of the ume, but in general around early June you can also try picking ume in the park.

A tourism facility located in Tsukahara Shinden, Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture where visitors can enjoy fruit picking nearly year round—strawberries from January to May, muskmelons from August to early fall, and mandarin oranges from October to December (advance reservation required). Visitors can enjoy as much delicious, fresh fruit as they like during a picking session, such as extra sweet Benihoppe and Kaorino strawberries or meaty and fragrant muskmelons (60 minute limit for melons only). There’s also an on-site restaurant which offers a superb “kama-mabushi gozen” meal packed with tasty seafood delights from Suruga Bay. Located in Izunokuni City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Ema is perhaps the largest strawberry picking facility in the prefecture. The center is only open during strawberry season, from December to around the Golden Week holidays (early May). Visitors can enjoy eating two strawberry varieties here: Akihime, a large sized strawberry cultivar originally developed in Shizuoka; and Benihoppe, a variety based on Akihime. During a picking session, visitors can eat as many ripe, sweet, and juicy strawberries as they like for 30 minutes, and condensed milk to top them with is provided for free. 南房総の道の駅で見つけたチラシに100円引きとあったので、立ち寄って見ました。受付から徒歩１-２分の９番のビニールハウスが目的地。到着すると練乳の入ったプラスチックの箱を渡されます。ハウス内はロープで本日可能なイチゴの棚が仕切られています。紅ほっぺのみのビニールハウスでしたが、粒も大きくて練乳無しでも十分美味しかったです。入場料分は食べようと思ったものの無理でした。

This orchard is located about a 15-minute drive from Miyako Airport or about a six-minute walk from Yonaha Maehama Port. The orchard features fields of tropical fruit trees and plants including bananas, pineapples, and coconuts, allowing visitors to experience a tropical atmosphere. It also offers horseback riding on Miyako horses, a Natural Monument of the prefecture. The orchard also offers tropical guided tours in which participants are driven around the grounds in a golf cart by a staff member. The trip takes about 25 minutes. Juice, ice cream, and other items made with fresh fruit are sold at the orchard's cafe.

This all-weather pick-your-own strawberry farm, Uonuma's first, is a five-minute drive from Yuzawa Interchange. Open from January to the end of June, people of all ages can enjoy picking strawberries rain, snow, or shine. Guests can pick sweet and juicy Echigohime strawberries (a variety exclusive to Niigata Prefecture) raised with great attention to their watering and cultivation in the farm's three big greenhouses. The farm is wheelchair accessible, as the strawberries can be picked without bending over and the greenhouses were built with wide passages. Visitors can choose to either take home their strawberries or enjoy the all-you-can-eat option. The farm also has a rest area where you can eat your strawberries.
