The colorful flower gardens of Flower Land Kamifurano stand out wonderfully against the backdrop of the majestic Mt. Tokachi. At about 150,000 square meters, the large area is a great place to take a leisurely stroll or have a go on one of their popular tractor rides. You can also have a go at making pillows using lavender potpourri and making potpourri pouches among other activities.

Flower types not as spectacular as compare to other farms but the cafe selling the white corn and melon is must try.

A wide variety of flowers—including the “Six Flowers of Tokachi” that appear on Rokkatei confectionery wrappers—bloom in the garden at different times of year, making this an extremely beautiful place to visit. With the Naoyuki Sakamoto Commemorative Hall (dedicated to the artist who created the images seen on Rokkatei confectionery wrappers), several art galleries, and a rest house (with restaurant and shop), there is plenty to see and do as you enjoy strolling round the garden. Please note that Rokka no Mori is closed during the winter months.

Ueno Farm was originally an ordinary rice farm. Starting in 1989, when a change in the law made it possible for farmers to sell their rice directly to consumers, Ueno Farm experienced a steady increase in the number of people visiting the farm, and the owner decided that it would be a good idea to plant flowers so that visitors could enjoy strolling round the farm; as a result, Ueno Farm became a place where people can admire different seasonal flowers at different times of year. Today, besides walking round the Farm’s gardens, visitors can also purchase herbs and seedlings grown on the Farm using seeds imported from Europe, and enjoy light meals and desserts made using locally-grown ingredients. The weekend farmers’ market, when neighboring farmers come to sell their vegetables at Ueno Farm, is also a popular event.
