Located in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, this botanical garden is a part of the National Museum of Nature and Science, fully utilizing its position amid the rich nature at the southern base of Mt. Tsukuba, 7,000 species of plants—tropical and temperate—from Japan and around the world are cultivated here. General visitors can see roughly 3,000 of them. The garden is divided into nine sections, like evergreens, shrubs, aquatic plants, etc., and features three greenhouses recreating environments like the savannah and the tropical rainforest. You can see many rare foreign plants here.

It is a gem of a place. Located near to Tsukuba University,bit is quiet and serene. If you plan to eat/picnic here, you need to bring your own food.

This herb garden is located inside of Nishihirahatake Park in Matsudasoryo, Matsuda Town, Ashigarakami County. It raises a large variety of herbs on its 3,667-square-meter ground. Visitors can view the seasonal herbs while strolling the path through the garden. At Suigo Sawara Aquatic Botanical Garden you can experience the old-fashioned ambience of a Japanese riverside district. It is located in Suigo-Tsukuba Quasi-National Park. Visitors come to enjoy the Ayame Festival in June with one and one and a half million Japanese irises of 400 varieties including Edo, Higo, and Ise, as well as the Hasu Festival from July to August with around 300 varieties of lotus flowers. This arboretum sits on an extensive area which covers 142.6 hectares in total, and is located on Mt. Rokko in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. They raise and exhibit various plants at the arboretum, focusing on a total of roughly 1,200 species of Japanese and foreign woody plant, and the areas are divided up based on their place of origin such as Asia, Europe and North America. It is famous for its seasonal flowers such as it having 25 varieties and 350 species including 50,000 hydrangea plants, roughly 4,000 rhododendron, azalea and cherry trees. You can also enjoy the leaves changing colors in autumn with such as Hananoki (Japanese Red Maple) and Iroha Momiji (Japanese Maple). There is a free shuttle bus from Kita Suzurandai Station.

This rose garden, the largest in Japan, is located in a hilly area on the east side of Kirishimagaoka Park. Some 35 thousand wild roses, English roses, and other rose varieties are grown on the garden’s vast grounds. Roses named after royalty and nobles, Kanoya’s own original Princess Kanoya, and other roses bloom in vivid color; the best time to visit the garden is during the festivals held during the peak blooming periods in spring and autumn. Visitors can try flower cutting in a green house and appreciate roses from around the world in facilities like a rose chapel and garden stage. This botanical garden is located in the hilly area of Mt. Handa in Okayama City. Characterized by the 3,200 kinds of 150,000 plants (plum trees, cherry trees, Luoyang peonies, azaleas, roses, etc.) planned to bloom throughout the year in the 110,000 square meter garden, it was opened to see plants, for recreation and as a place of rest. Famous particularly as a cherry blossom viewing spot, approximately 800 Yoshino cherry blossoms are in full bloom from late March to early April, and you can enjoy flower viewing together with trees that are over 100 years old. In addition, it is known for the Ipponmatsu Kofun burial mound near the top of the garden that is a valuable cultural property.

とっても広いと思って行くと「そうでもないかな？」と思うかたもいると思いますが、結構広いです。お花畑の間、間に道があって、下から上から眺めながら散策することが出来ます。一時的に雨が降りましたが、雨宿りする場所も有りますし、傘も借りられます。散策路が多少ぬかるんだりするので、雨の日は靴汚れに注意です。ケイトウの見頃時期にはお薦めの場所だと思います。

A sightseeing destination established 50 years ago on Cape Nagasakibana, an area tied to a legend concerning the Palace of the Dragon King. Boasting a sweeping view of Kaimondake Volcano and the East China Sea, this garden, which recreates a tropical jungle, is planted with some 1,000 varieties of tropical plants. Parrot and rat shows are held on the garden’s spacious grounds, but be sure not to miss the flamingo shows resembling something out of a south seas resort. The garden also holds a variety of special events during Golden Week and other long holidays. People of all ages are sure to enjoy meeting the animals which are allowed to roam grounds closely resembling their natural habitat.

From early to mid-April each year, visitors can enjoy seeing the garden's 300 meter-long row of cherry blossom trees illuminated at night.
